Nairobi (Kenya). On 4 April 2021, the Solemnity of Easter, the Province of East Africa O. L. of Hope, launched the new Province Website.

It was a laborious journey that involved a small work team made up of the Provincial, Sr. Gisele Ndekezi, and Sr. Mary Owuoth, Sr. Gisele Mashauri, Sr. Benedicta Tiba, the developer of the Website, and all the FMA communities of the Province. A true team effort which, with everyone’s contribution, facilitated its development and implementation.

The inaugural event took place online, connected with all the communities. After an initial prayer of invocation to the Holy Spirit, the developer of the site presented the architecture of the website and illustrated its features and functionality, underlining that the intention is to make the life and mission of the AFE Province visible.

The Provincial, Sr. Gisele Ndekezi, then officially launched the AFE Website www.salesiansisterseastafrica.org and the FMA were able to access it  and view it.

The AFE website presents the identity of the Province, its spirituality, the mission of the FMA communities in Kenya, Rwanda, and Tanzania, the different areas of school and vocational ministry, and the houses of welcome and support for girls in situations of hardship.

“Telling life that becomes history” expresses the need of the AFE Province to make the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians known through the activities they carry out and to make the Salesian charism visible in the world through the invitation “Come and see” (Jn 1:46). Communicate by meeting people where and how they are, as Pope Francis says in the Message for the 55th World Day of Social Communications.
