Hlaing Thar Yar (Myanmar). The Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of the Community of St. John Bosco of Hlaing Thar Yar, in Myanmar – Province of Mary Our Help of Cambodia-Myanmar (CMY) – on 16 January  2021  received about 50 mattresses, mosquito nets, blankets, sheets, pillows, pillowcases, and towels from Yangon St. Joseph Major Seminary.

In January the temperatures dropped and in the slum dwellings close to the community, the families found themselves facing the cold. The FMA saw in this donation a sign of Providence and St. Joseph’s intercession, which allowed them to be able to provide for the needs of the people: “Our children jumped for joy in receiving those warm beds and blankets, because they didn’t have any and never had one in their life”, says the Animator, Sister Veronica Nwe Ni Moe.

In addition, the cultivation of a vegetable garden on the land near the FMA house continues  for the self-sustenance of the community and the sharing of products with families. Children and young people from the oratory with great availability, help the FMA to grow vegetables: mustard leaves, salads, beans, chilies, bananas, and other nutritious products. If the harvest is abundant, it is also shared with the poor who live in the slum area, in a circle of solidarity that educates children in gratitude and generosity.Orto FMA Myanmar
