Rome (Italy). On 14 November 2022, a Webinar will be held to celebrate one year since the registration of participants on the Laudato Si’ Platform, for the creation of Plans to implement concrete steps towards sustainable lifestyles.

Indeed, on 14 November 2021, on the occasion of the World Day of the Poor, the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development opened registrations to religious communities, educational institutions, parishes, dioceses, health care centers, workers and companies, families, organizations, and Groups to join the Action Platform Laudato Si’ – launched by the Vatican on 25 May 2021 – to make a commitment to the planning process.

In the Angelus of that Sunday, Pope Francis invited “all people of good will to exercise active citizenship for the care of the common home”, by subscribing to the Platform.

Since then, thousands of individuals, families, religious congregations, and organizations around the world have committed to creating the Laudato Si’ Plans,

which represent people, places, points for reflection, and concrete actions in the direction of integral ecology.

During the celebratory Webinar, special guests will alternate with testimonies from individuals and families, and a space dedicated to PILS members will be offered to celebrate the year that has ended and prepare for the one that opens.

Among the special guests is Sr. Runita Borja, General Councilor for Youth Ministry of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, who will testimony to the  path of adhesion to the Laudato Si’ Platform initiative and the commitment of the FMA Institute, in particular with the Deliberation of the 24th General Chapter, held in Rome from 12 September to 24 October 2021, which involved all the Educating Communities of the world “in a concrete and continuous path of conversion to integral ecology, assuming on the network the seven objectives of Laudato si’ , in the spirit of the Preventive System ”(Acts GC XXIV, n. 36).

Provinces from all over the world have responded with enthusiasm to the appeal, so much so that 870 letters of adhesion to the Platform have arrived from the FMA Communities and from Educating Communities, Schools, Laudato si’ Circles, groups, movements, and associations and, in this first year, the FMA Institute has thus published 40 action plans.

The Laudato Si’ Initiative Platform challenged the FMA Institute even more in its charismatic choice towards the poorest, concretizing listening in response in favor of integral education, offered at different levels, according to the multiple contexts of the world. Sr. Runita will talk about some of these experiences, highlighting the creativity, daring, and networking put in place.

On 14 November 2022, from 14 to 15.15 (Italy time),  the webinar can be followed live on the channels of Youtube and Facebook of the Laudato Si’ Action Platform, in English with simultaneous translation into Spanish, Italian, French, and Portuguese.
