Mornese (Italy). On August 5, 2019, Mother Yvonne Reungoat from the Rooms of Mother Mazzarello at Mornese, Italy, officially opens the Triennial of preparation for the 150th of the Foundation of the FMA Institute (1872-2022).

It is a day of remembrance and of the future, of gratitude and of fidelity that projects the FMA Institute ahead with hope.  August 5th is an opportunity to return to the evangelical and charismatic sources, to the motivations that give meaning to the Salesian life and mission.  It is a graced event that leads us deeply into the roots of the Salesian vocation.

“Mary walks in this house (cf. Cronistoria V, 51-52), are the words that Don Bosco addressed to the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians in his last encounter at Nizza Monferrato in 1885, in harmony with the theme of the coming GCXXIV.  The ‘house’ is the world, where the mission entrusted to the FMA Institute is carried out; where Mary is present as guide and inspirer in helping us to live the generative power of the charism in contemporaneity.

Mary walks with us’ is a reality that evokes a ‘vision’, a certainty, rooted in faith and in the Salesian charism, a lived experience”.

Video-message of Mother Yvonne Reungoat

The celebration of August 5 is an occasion to “renew the certainty that Mary walks with us, ‘she supports and accompanies, protects and embraces us’” (Christus Vivit, 45).

The renewal of the ‘Yes’ of every FMA that happens in every time and place, is an event of communion.

May we live the preparation for the 150th anniversary of the foundation of the Institute and GCXXIV “with gratitude and awe in contemplating the richness of sanctity, of educational passion, of missionary creativity that flourishes in the Institute”.

With the young we remain united in prayer and in the joy of belonging to the Lord and to the Salesian Family, entirely of Mary.
