Rome (Italy). In view of the 62nd World Day of Prayer for Vocations 2025 – which is celebrated on 11 May on the theme, “Pilgrims of hope: the gift of life” – the Youth Ministry Sector of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians proposes for the month of May, Vocational animation webinars by language groups addressed to FMA, young people, laity, and Educating Communities.
The FMA Institute is committed in this six-year term to “be with Mary a ‘presence’ that generates life”, and has taken as its first priority choice:
“Let us revive and witness together to the beauty of the Salesian vocation by placing ourselves in a state of ongoing formation for a renewed vocational impetus.”
In this perspective, one of the attentions of the Youth Ministry Sector in the animation of the 2022-2027 six-year term is: “Together to promote a vocational culture”.
In the Message for the World Day of Prayer for Vocations 2025, Pope Francis urges “that every effort be made to foster vocations in the various spheres of human life and activity, and to help individuals to be spiritually open to the Lord’s voice. It is important, then, that adequate space be given to the accompaniment of vocations in educational and pastoral planning.
The Church needs pastors, religious, missionaries, and spouses capable of saying ‘yes’ to the Lord with trust and hope. A vocation is never a treasure stored away in the heart; rather, it grows and is strengthened within a community that believes, loves, and hopes. No one can respond to God’s call alone, for all of us need the prayers and support of our brothers and sisters,” affirms the Holy Father.
The Institute’s Youth Ministry Sector has organized the Webinars in collaboration with the Province YM Coordinators and Referents for vocational animation, who have been asked to send a video presenting an experience or good practice in the promotion of a vocational culture.
This experience or practice – at the provincial level, of FMA Communities, educative work, or Salesian Youth Movement – could regard the accompaniment of young people in vocational discernment; initiatives to involve young people in activities for children and other young people; initiatives of prayer for vocations; communities open to living with young people; meetings with families; vocational days highlighting the different states of life, etc.
