Rome (Italy). On 15 May 2022, in Rome at the San Callisto complex, the Consult of the Salesian Family of the Lazio Region invited the members of the various SF Groups present in the area to participate in the Via Lucis, a moment of prayer and spirituality entitled “Walking with the Risen One”, presided over by the Provincial Vicar, Fr. Francesco Marcoccio.
Some Daughters of Mary Help of Christians were present, including Sr. Lucrecia Uribe, World Delegate of the Salesian Cooperators and World Animator of ADMA, several Salesian Cooperators, and members of the Lay Spiritual Movement “Witnesses of the Risen One”, the Group of the Salesian Family that animated the moment of prayer.
Mrs. Dina Moscioni, General Coordinator of the Movement, motivated the participants with these words:
“We are gathered here, brothers and sisters, to become aware of our life as an Easter itinerary with the Risen One who illuminates our steps. One day a scribe said to the Master, ‘I will follow you wherever you go’ (Mt 8:19). Everywhere; on Calvary, along the Via Lucis. We will rediscover the resurrection as a source of peace, as an energy of joy, as a stimulus to the newness of history. We will hear it proclaimed in the biblical text, commented on in the spiritual experience, expanded in its actualization to our today, which is the ‘today’ of God.”
The Movement “Witnesses of the Risen One” (TR), formed by people who share a journey of faith and friendship to understand, implement, and spread the Passover of the Lord through systematic reflection, constant prayer, concrete commitment, and daily witness. It was founded by Fr. Sabino Palumbieri, Salesian of Don Bosco, 8 December 1984. The TR is organized into grassroots groups called Cenacles, present in various Italian regions, where they often work in parishes and dioceses. Currently there are 200 members, with 22 established cenacles and another 6 in formation.
The Via Lucis was born in the summer of 1988 in the Witnesses of the Risen One Movement. It was the first formulation and realization of a celebration centered on the Resurrection.
