Haledon, New Jersey. In the month of August in St. Joseph Province (SEC), the Celebrations for the renewal of Vows and of entrance into the Novitiate took place.
After the visit of Mother Yvonne Reungoat in 2017, the Provincial, Sr. Joanne Holloman, shared the reflection of her Good Night to the community of Mary Help of Christians in North Haledon, New Jersey. In her Good Night, Mother had shared the story of a young sister who had been healed at Lourdes. The sister was very sick and had entrusted her cure to the intercession of Our Lady and to the prayers of her sisters.
Inspired by this story, Mother Yvonne had encouraged the community of North Haledon to practice perfect charity during the monthly novena to Mary Help of Christians every 15 to 23 of the month. Sr. Joanne, took Mother’s words to heart and appealed to the Province Community to commit themselves to charity for the growth of vocations.
On August 5, 2019, the commitment was concretized. 15 Temporary Professed renewed their vows of Chastity, Poverty, and Obedience: 5 Novices and 5 Postulants continue their formation journey of the sequela of Jesus, and in September, some new young women will begin the Phase of Verification and Orientation in the choice of Consecrated Life in the FMA Institute.
This is the sign and fruit of the charity and sacrifices of the sisters of SEC Province.
