Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). On 22 February 2024, “St. Mary D. Mazzarello” Province (BMM) of Rio de Janeiro joyfully welcomed Sister Ena Veralis Bolaños, General Councilor for Administration of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.

Accompanied by the Provincial Treasurer, Sister Regina Maria Ferreira Carrijo, Sister Ena was once again in the BMM Province for moments of encounter with the FMA who were not present during the visit in october 2023.

The Councilor had the opportunity to visit some of the realities that maintain the Salesian presence in the State of Rio de Janeiro, getting to know the Educating Communities and the Religious closely, sharing experiences and further strengthening the Charism in the cities of Rio das Ostras – Castelo School Rio das Ostras, Macaé – Castelo School and Campos dos Goytacazes – Laura Vicunha Schools and Centro Educacional Nossa Senhora Auxiliadora (CENSA).

Welcomed with great celebration by the students and the Educating Communities, Sister Ena’s presence contributed to renewing the spirit of the mission, promoting a collaborative and unified approach, in the constant search for an economy that effectively supports and strengthens life.

In a special moment of her visit, Sister Ena went to the Social Work Crescere Insieme, a Salesian presence located in the city of Belford Roxo (RJ). During the visit, she was warmly greeted by the FMA of the Community and by the needy people and she had the opportunity to learn about the precious social work carried out by the Work, through the voice and protagonism of the young people, happy with the presence of the General Councilor among them.

Her visit also had the aim of getting to know more closely the work and management of the Retiro das Rosas Spirituality Center in Cachoeira do Campo, in Minas Gerais, where from 2 to 6 March, the seminar “For a Generative Animation” was held for the Interprovincial Conference of Brazil (CIB) in which she participates together with the Superior General, Mother Chiara Cazzuola, the Vicar, and the Councilors of the Sectors of the FMA Institute.
