Ariccia (Italy). On October 30-2 November 2019, at Ariccia in the House of the Divine Teacher, the FMA Provincial Council of St. John Bosco Roman Province will take place. It was preceded by a time of work in the Educating Communities on the proposed theme: “Do whatever he tells you.”  Communities that generate life in the heart of contemporaneity.  A small commission then proceeded to the synthesis enriched by the contribution of the Province Lay Consult.  On this working document will be based the reflection of the 60 capitulars and the 20 invited guests, among whom two SDB of the Sacred Heart Circumscription, Fr. Emanuele De Maria, Pastoral Delegate of ICC, and Fr. Gino Berto, Director of Pius XI Institute; the Province Coordinator of Salesian Cooperators, Ruggiero Diella and his wife, Loredana Simone, who is also a Salesian Cooperator; lay coordinators of works, and young animators.  The Chapter opens with a time of prayer and invocation of the Holy Spirit, followed by the Eucharistic celebration presided by Fr. Carlo Maria Zanotti, SDB.

The Provincial’s report on the Province journey of the last six years, the presentation of the working document, Lectio Divina on the proposed Biblical text of the Wedding Feast at Cana, with Eucharistic adoration and the celebration of Vespers are the fundamental moments of the first day that will close with an evening of fraternity animated by the young people.

On October 31, after the Eucharistic celebration, there will be two presentations: Professor Cecilia Costa, Sociology docent of Roma Tre and Consultant of the Secretary General of the Bishops’ Synod, who will treat the theme “Being in the heart of contemporaneity”.  Fr. Erminio Antonello, Italian visitor of the Vincentian priests, will speak on “Communities that generate life”.  In the afternoon, each Commission will gather to reflect on one of the questions on which to elaborate responses that will flow into the final document to send to the General Chapter.  The work will proceed with times of work for the Commission and discussion in Assembly including November 1.  The 2nd will be dedicated to voting on the Final Document and the election of the FMA Delegate to the General Chapter.

A group of FMA and lay people are also working to involve the Province Community in following the work through the Province website (www.fmairo.net), social channels, and direct streaming of some moments.  The Provincial Chapter is a very important time in the life of the Province during which through listening to the Holy Spirit, we reflect on the proposed theme and on the Province journey, also in view of greater significance and prophetic missionary spirit.
