Mozambique. On line is the hymn for the World Feast of Gratitude 2024, which will take place on 26 April 2024, in Maputo, Mozambique, Saint John Bosco Province (MOZ) on the theme “With Mary, guided by a ‘dream’, we generate peace, taking care of our common home”.
“Sonho profético” (Prophetic Dream) is the title of the hymn. The author of the lyrics and music is Sister Inácia Chaquisse, FMA, produced by Xuggubo productions 2024.
The piece takes up the theme of the Feast of Gratitude, the life-generating presence of Mary, the “taking care” of Don Bosco, Mother Mazzarello, and the “common home”, which accompany the journey in preparation for the Feast, the educational work and Johnny Bosco’s “dream at nine years of age”.
A dream that “persists”, in a country and in a world where conflicts continue to sow “pain and desperation” and we continue to implore with hope for peace, “Lord, give us your peace!”
Gratitude emerges forcefully at the conclusion of the hymn, towards the Founders, towards Salesian education that opens horizons to young people, and towards Mother Chiara Cazzuola, Mother Mazzarello today, whom Mozambique welcomes with open arms.
