Rome (Italy). On 27 December 2023, as per tradition, the Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Card. Ángel Fernández Artime, delivers as first fruits to the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and to the whole Salesian Family, Strenna 2024 “The dream that makes you dream”. A heart that transforms ‘wolves’ into ‘lambs”.

“This year, 2024, marks the 200th year since young John Bosco, our Don Bosco, had the dream that we have very familiarly come to know in the Salesian Family throughout the world as the dream at nine years of age.I believe that the 200th anniversary of the dream which “conditioned Don Bosco’s whole way of living and thinking. And in particular, the way of feeling the presence of God in the life of each one and in the history of the world” (cf. P. STELLA, Don Bosco in the history of Catholic religiosity), deserves to be placed at the center of the Strenna, which will guide the pastoral educational year of the whole Salesian Family”, wrote the Rector Major in presenting the theme of the Strenna.

The event will take place in Rome, in the Generalate of the FMA Institute, in the presence of Mother General, Sr. Chiara Cazzuola, her Council, the resident community, some members of the SDB General Council, and representatives of the Salesian Family.

After an initial introduction by the Rector Major, the video that accompanies and illustrates through images, the meaning of the message of the Strenna will be screened.

An interview will follow, in which Card. Ángel Fernández Artime will answer questions from two representatives of the Salesian Family. Through this dialogue, it will be possible to delve into the theme to learn about its details and reading paths.

The presentation of the Strenna will be broadcast in full at 17:00 (Rome time) in live worldwide streaming.

    Grazie ovviamente all’insegnamento concreto attraverso la sua vita , di San Giovanni Bosco.
