Roma (Italia). On 8 November 2024 the poster that, with a rich palette of colors and clear lines encapsulates the themes guiding the Salesian Family throughout 2025, the jubilee year, has been released.

The poster graphically conveys the essence of this special Strenna – announced on 29 July 2024 at the conclusion of the summer plenary session of the General Council of the Salesians of Don Bosco – conceived by Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime and developed by Fr Stefano Martoglio, who will fully present it at the end of the year under the theme: “Anchored in Hope, Pilgrims with Young People.”

Arriving alongside various proposals from around the world, the graphic work was selected by Fr Martoglio and his team. It was then refined and enriched with additional elements and details they suggested, leading to the final result.

The poster was created by the Portuguese artist Nuno Quaresma, a member of the Social Communication Office of the “Saint Anthony” Salesian Province in Portugal. He describes his new proposal as follows:

“The goal of this graphic design is to narrate the rich and dynamic story of the Salesian Family, from its beginnings to the present day. It summarizes this journey in a single image, capturing a unique and special phenomenon. The scene unfolds amidst the green fields of Colle Don Bosco and Valdocco, the starting points of a journey that extends through time and space across the globe, from Turin to Buenos Aires.

It depicts the Salesian Family moving forward under the protection of Mary Help of Christians, Mother and Teacher. In the background, the Alps represent the foundation and source from which the charisma and mission of Don Bosco flow.

Don Bosco, with his loving care, welcomes and guides all his young people, pointing them in the right direction. When asked, ‘Where are we going, Don Bosco?’, he smiles and responds, ‘To Paradise.’ Next to him, united in the same dedication, joy, and love for the young, are his mother, Mama Margaret, and Mother Mary Domenica Mazzarello, reminding everyone of the foundational moments of this miraculous journey. Their hope keeps them believing in the future, as the place where they experience hope most intensely is in transcendence.

At the center of every action is Jesus, the Good Shepherd, the source and anchor of every faith and trust. In His infinite light and love, He welcomes Don Bosco and all the pilgrims, guiding them and directing the gaze of the observers towards the path of full realization.

Each young person carries with them the signs and symbols of those who design and build peace in the world, just like the artisans and artists of beauty and enthusiasm, in search of good, especially for the poorest and most vulnerable. The older youth walk ahead, while the younger ones follow behind. This symbolic arrangement evokes the transformation that occurs through welcome, accompaniment, and education within the Salesian communities.

In the love of Christ and in this oratorian environment, fear and vulnerability transform into courage and hope. Anchored in hope, they build bridges and bring music, dreams, and joy. In their hearts, they harbor the most fruitful seeds and the necessary tools to realize their dreams and goals.”

Completing the poster are the textual elements of the motto for the 2025 Strenna and, in the upper right corner, a Salesian reinterpretation of the 2025 Jubilee logo.

The Strenna poster is available in six languages – iEnglish, Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, and Polish –  and in an editable version for further variants.
