Aosta (Italy). On 3 September 2022 in Aosta, in the Aosta Valley Region, a new presence of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of Mary Help of Christians Province (IPI) was inaugurated. The Community, made up of four FMA, will carry out pastoral activities at the Church of Saint Martin de Corlèans, a suburban parish with about 8500 inhabitants.

The official welcome by the Bishop of Aosta, Msgr. Franco Lovignana and the Parish Priest, Fr. Nicola Corigliano, took place during the vigil Eucharistic Celebration, which was attended by the Provincial Vicar, Sr. Giovanna Gallino, representing the Provincial, Sr. Emma Bergandi, and some FMA.

The Animator, Sr. Loredana Saiu, and the other Sisters solemnly entered with the entrance procession, placing four green candles, the color of ordinary time, on the altar, signifying a witnessing presence in everyday life. At the end of the Celebration, the Decree of Canonical Erection was read.

The new Community will be named in honor of the Servant of God Mother Rosetta Marchese, born in Aosta in 1922, and Superior General of the FMA Institute from 1981 to 1984, whose cause for beatification was opened in July 2019. A Community entrusted to her intercession, in her native land, and at the end of the centenary of her birth, is certainly a significant sign for the territory and for the Institute, which celebrates the 150th anniversary of its foundation (1872-2022).

The four FMA will give particular attention to Youth Ministry and will take part in the various parish activities, continuing to charismatically follow St. Giovanni Bosco School present in the city for more than a hundred years, now managed in educational continuity, by the “L’Abbraccio” Foundation.

After the Eucharistic Celebration, a simple but heartfelt time of celebration and sharing prepared by the parishioners concluded the day.
