Rome (Italy). Also this year as well, the exchange could not be lacking of Christmas greetings between the General Councils of the Salesians of Don Bosco and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians who met on 2 December 2024, in the renovated Salesian headquarters in Rome in via Marsala.
The Vicar of the Rector Major, Fr. Stefano Martoglio – who led the Congregation after the resignation of Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime – waited in the courtyard together with his confreres, the Mother General, Sister Chiara Cazzuola, and the Sisters of the Council to reserve a very fraternal and family welcome for them.
After a short moment of conviviality, the confreres, divided into small groups, accompanied their Sisters on a visit to the rooms renovated in order to host the new headquarters. The atmosphere of simplicity and spontaneity continued during the Eucharistic Celebration in the new Chapel of the Good Shepherd, presided by Fr. Stefano who, after the homily, invited those present to share the Word of God and prayer intentions.
The evening ended with dinner in the small room next to the panoramic terrace of the top floor, enlivened by the Christmas carols and the exchange of gifts. Mother Chiara thanked the confreres for the beautiful family reunion, which has become a tradition, and assured the support of prayer in this delicate period of preparation for their General Chapter. Each confrere was given the book of “Letters of Sister Maria Troncatti”, the great missionary who will soon be canonized, to the joy not only of the FMA, but of the whole Salesian Family.
