Rome (Italy). On 4 January 2024, the second meeting of Salesians Thursdays at the Auxilium, will be held, organized by Studies Center on the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of the Pontifical Faculty of Education “Auxilium” in Rome. The 2023/2024 program, in continuity with the insights realized for the 150th Anniversary of the FMA Institute, has as its unifying theme: Preventive system. Salesian education yesterday and today.
“I will give you the Teacher. Ideas on the Preventive System starting from the dream at nine years” is the theme that will be deepened by Sister Piera Ruffinatto, Professor of Pedagogical Methodology and Dean of the Faculty “Auxilium”, who will hold a reflection starting from the “dream at 9 years” by John Bosco, whose bicentenary is celebrated in 2024.
Sister Piera explains, “The dream can be reread from multiple points of view and perspectives. Among them we choose a re-reading in the light of the Preventive System and in the key of educational spirituality, privileging the Marian dimension that crosses not only the dream at nine years, but the whole life and pedagogical experience of Saint John Bosco. His experience of Marian sonship, in fact, is also the heart of his preventive method, aimed at making young people true children of God, with the help of Mary Help of Christians”.
