United States and Canada. On the occasion of the Feast of St. John Bosco, 31 January  2021, the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and the Salesians of Don Bosco from the United States and Canada created and published on YouTube a video, expression of the Salesian Charism in the United States and Canada.

The videos and photos that make up the video were collected by the FMA of the Provinces of St. Joseph of the East United States and Canada (SEC) and Mary Immaculate of the West United States (SUO), and by the Salesians of the United States and Canada, to show the richness of the Salesian mission rooted in community and spiritual life.

Prayer, fraternity in community, service, openness to the world are represented by a series of images that immerses the viewer in the daily life of many gestures lived with passion for God and for the young, in the style of Don Bosco and of Mother Mazzarello.

Don Bosco’s words in the subtitles: “For you I study, for you I work, for you I am also willing to give my life …”, say that everything a Salesian does is linked to the charismatic call to save souls, according to the “Da mihi animas cetera tolle”.

The atmosphere of serenity and joy that pervades the video recalls the words of the Rector Major, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime in his Message to the young on Don Bosco’s Feast, 31 January 2021 in which, speaking of “optimism and joy” he says:

“I am sure that this is a rule of life for us Salesians and for all the members of our Salesian Family: it is something beautiful, which belongs to our charismatic identity. And how I wish it were like that in your life too, dear young people! I want to talk to you about this profound joy, which comes from God and from being rooted in Him. In fact, our Christian vocation also has the mission of bringing joy to the world: that deep and authentic joy that lasts over time, because it comes from God”.

The video ends with an invitation to the portal Salesian Vocations, born from the collaboration between the Salesians of Don Bosco and the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians from the United States and Canada.
