Turin (Italy). The 44th edition of the Salesian Family Spirituality Days (GSFS) will be held in Turin from 15 to 18 January 2026. This traditional event aims to revive Salesian Spirituality in its fundamental dimensions, in a spirit of communion with the 32 SF Groups around the 2026 Strenna of the Rector Major, Fr. Fabio Attard, “Do what he tells you. Believers, free to serve.”
Approximately 350 participants are expected in Valdocco, leaders and members of the Salesian Family Groups, including the Superior General of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Mother Chiara Cazzuola; the General Councilor for the Salesian Family, Sister Leslie Sándigo; and other Councilors, as well as several FMA delegates of the SF from the Provinces.
“These are days of family and communion, of deepening the Gift and of sharing, of prayer and of availability for meeting, listening, discernment in view of good choices, as Mary did in Cana, where she put the strength of her faith at stake,” motivated Fr. Joan Lluís Playà, Central Delegate of the Rector Major for the Salesian Family, in a message spread among GSFS 2026 members.
As every year, the Days will offer moments of spiritual deepening, lectio divina, dialogue and sharing between the different Groups of the Salesian Family. The program includes the presentation and in-depth study of the Strenna, testimonies of life and support for the faith, celebrations, times of prayer, and occasions of fraternity.
Particular attention will be paid to young people, lay people, and Salesian Cooperators, in the context of the 150th anniversary of their founding.
Along with moments of shared spirituality in the celebrations and liturgies together, and times of reflection and listening, the GSFS 2026 also includes free-choice proposals that will enrich the individual experience of participants in Turin.
In the early afternoon of 16 January, members will be able to access four different options, divided according to their respective sensibilities and interests: Visit the exhibit “The Wings of Maria Troncatti,” on the most recent Saint of the Salesian Family; visit the exhibit on Saint Piergiorgio Frassati, a model of Turin’s youthful sanctity of the 20th century; visit the Casa Don Bosco Museum in Valdocco, for an immersion in the roots of the Salesian Charism; or listen to a testimony about Akash Bashir, a young Salesian alumnus, whose Cause of Martyrdom is underway.
