Hat Hai (Thailand). Since 22 November 2025, southern Thailand has been hit by torrential rains generated by a monsoon, which have caused severe flooding. The city of Hat Yai, in Songkhla province, is the hardest hit, with over 240,000 people affected.

In various areas, water levels have reached worrying heights, submerging entire urban areas. Authorities have issued an urgent evacuation order for the entire population, but many people remain stranded in their homes, dormitories, and tall buildings, unable to leave the area.

Torrential rains followed one another for many days and, during the night, the water level rose continuously. Four days have already passed and the situation continues to worsen. The communities of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of Saint Mary Mazzarello Province (THA) and the Salesians of Don Bosco present in the area are also affected and are experiencing the emergency together with the local population.

As of today, 25 November 2025, the Hat Hai FMA Community is inundated, causing serious damage, as is the case for the many local residents who have not yet been able to evacuate due to the height of the water and the strong current, which make any attempt to leave the at-risk areas extremely difficult.

The Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians offers concrete support to the THA Province and the population and counts on the generosity and solidarity of all. Contributions and offerings can be sent in the manner indicated on the Website of the FMA Institute, designating in the reason Thailand Emergency.
