Rome (Italy). On November 17, 2018, at the Pontifical Faculty of Educational Sciences “Auxilium” of Rome, the meeting is held on the theme “The future enters the classroom: ‘disassemble’ and ‘assemble’ meanings: how to learn in the digital school?”

“The future enters the classroom: ‘disassemble’ and ‘assemble’ meanings” is the title of the intervention that Prof. Pier Cesare Rivoltella, Professor of Didactics and Technologies of Education and Learning at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan, Founder and Director of CREMIT, Center for Research on Education for Media, Information and Technology, holds at the Interdisciplinary Course “Learning in the time of the Net. Paths to ‘learn’ the future”

Prof. Rivoltella will reflect on how didactic technology does not replace traditional teaching, but is the element that generates added value, primarily in an inclusive function.

The electronic device becomes an instrument of motivation and attention, which turns into a collaborative dynamic of sharing knowledge within the classroom, in the area of a didactic that is no longer disciplinary but made for skills.

The young people become protagonists of their learning: with technology the possibilities of learning multiply, involving all the individual capacities of ideation, creation, production, appropriation. The themes of active citizenship and of media-activism are linked to the issues of “disassembling the messages” and thinking independently.

The final objective of the Course is not only to know the potentials and the risks of technology, but to ‘try to do’, discovering the transformations that cultural and bio-technological evolution is producing in the processes of education, formation, learning, knowledge building, and providing young people and adults with the keys to a digital civics education that enables them to live as active citizens.

The third meeting is scheduled for Saturday, December 1, 2018 with the presentations of Michele Marangi and Pier Cesare Rivoltella on Citizenship and digital civics education.
