Rome (Italy). The second issue of the magazine Da Mihi Animas (DMA) of 2025 is published. After having explored in the first issue, “Hope in the signs of the times,” the theme of the new issue is: Hope is a journey together.
In the editorial, Sister Maria Ausilia De Siena, Councilor for Communication of the FMA Institute, speaks about the profound meaning that “walking together with hope” has at a charismatic level:
“Walking together with hope takes on a deep and vital meaning in our Salesian charism. For Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello, educating-evangelizing was the fruit of a path divided with young people, proceeding not in front of them, but ‘in their midst’ to accompany them day after day, with kindness, patience, and trust.”
Recalling the current context in which “young people find it difficult to believe and families are often alone and disoriented in their educative task,” she emphasizes the importance of the presence of a community that accompanies them as a sign of hope: “No one educates alone. You don’t live with hope if you go it alone.
Walking together in the Salesian style, means creating a family environment where every young person feels welcomed, valued, accompanied. It means knowing the hearts of young people, their dreams and struggles, sharing life, making them feel that they are never alone, that every step is important, and that there is always someone willing to listen and to trust, to look beyond appearance, to encourage without judging, to believe that every day is a promise of the future.”
The magazine is enriched with multimedia insights, available on the recently renewed www.rivistadma.org, website, easily accessible from PCs, tablets, and smartphones. Translated into six languages, it is also available for download in a fully digital format.
The three-year period of preparation for the 150th anniversary of the first missionary expedition, which began on 14 November 2024, gives the magazine the opportunity to tell the story of the hope that so many FMA have been able to embody in their daily lives, sharing life with people. The article that narrates a mission experience is associated with a video-interview that can be found in the Multimedia.
A splendid example is Sister Maria Troncatti, Mother, Missionary, Artisan of peace and reconciliation, which in each issue an aspect is deepened, to follow her footsteps on the road to holiness.
