Madrid (Spain). From 21 to 23 February, in the House of Madrid El Plantío, of Mary Help of Christians Province (SPA), the Salesian Family formation meeting was held entitled, “Together as Salesian Family, witnesses of hope”.
More than 30 representatives of the Salesian Family Groups – FMA delegates and lay people – met to study in depth the guidelines of animation and accompaniment in the Salesian Family starting from the final report of the Synod of Bishops, the Jubilee, and Strenna 2025.
It was an opportunity to share the projects of the various Associations in an open dialogue with Sister Lucrecia Uribe, World Delegate for the Salesian Family, who came from Rome. The Provincial, Sister María Rosario Ten Soriano was also present.
The meeting began on the 21st with prayer together with the young people in formation – Night of art and prayer – at Mary Help of Christians School in Villaamil. It was a precious opportunity to accompany with prayer and meet Sister Sofía Parra, FMA, who would make her perpetual vows the following day.
Saturday 22, at the Provincial House of Madrid Villaamil, was therefore a great day of celebration with the Perpetual Profession of Sister Sofía, a moment to give thanks to God for the vocations of one of the Groups of the Salesian Family. It was certainly a great gift to be able to participate in such an important moment for the Institute.
The day continued with reflections and dynamics led by Sister Lucrecia Uribe on the themes of the meeting.
On Sunday, after the lively evening of the previous day, there was an intense moment of sharing about the life of the different groups – Salesian Cooperators, FMA Past Pupils, and ADMA – from which emerged the varied fruits that highlight the processes of reflection, animation, and accompaniment in lay Associations.
“Anchored to hope, pilgrims with the young, let us allow the Holy Spirit to act and fill us with hope in order to continue transmitting the values that were given to us in Baptism, to revive hope, to stimulate confidence and heal wounds to revive those dreams that, after all, are a sign of synodality. Together we have the mission of our Charism, always among the young and the most disadvantaged, where we collect the fruits of having sown joy, happiness, and witness wherever life places us,” is the reflection of a participant.
The meeting ended with the wish to “continue to walk together to be more and more prophecy and gift for the Church.”
