Subiaco (Italy). On Sunday, 26 January 2025, the Educating Community of San Biagio House of Prayer in Subiaco, of the Daughters of Mary Help of St. John Bosco Province (IRO), celebrated the 6th Sunday of the Word of God, established by Pope Francis.

For this Salesian House, the day takes on a unique character, since listening and deepening the Word of God represent the essence of the mission and the ground on which those who arrive are welcomed to live with the FMA ‘special moments’ of encounter with God who made Himself Word and Bread.

In the presence of various ‘friends of San Biagio’, Fr. Carlo Maria Zanotti, a Salesian of Don Bosco, masterfully deepened the theme proposing the lectio: “I hope on your Word”, on Psalm 119 (118).

The Day was a great opportunity to approach the Word, capable of penetrating into one’s intimate and perturbing a life. The desert time, proposed at the end of this moment, gave each person the possibility of a personal encounter with God-Word.

Very beautiful and intense was the time of sharing, which enriched each one with the experience of the other, followed by a fraternal agape and joyful collaboration in tidying up the house.

In the afternoon, another strong moment was proposed. After the solemn reception of the Word of God in the small church of St. Romano and St. Biagio, the priest introduced and started reading some passages from the Gospel of Luke, to confirm that the gift of the Word is for our life and care. The experience of the procession of the Word was also significant. The text of the disciples of Emmaus was read at some poins of the  procession. Then, the group then arrived at the assembly hall, where the Eucharist was celebrated.

The participants’ expressions of joy at the moment of farewell with festive and grateful greetings, made all perceive the praise to God and each one for the gift of this day shared in the fraternity. Truly, when God is at the center, everything takes on meaning and an indelible value.
