Kafubu (Dem. Rep. Congo). From 30 October to 2 November 2025, a formation meeting for the Local Communications Coordinators of Our Lady of Africa Province (AFC) was held in Kafubu, led by the Provincial Coordinator, Sister Léontine Sonyi.
The aim of the formation was to strengthen participants’ skills on issues related to social communication, which is essential for effective information transmission within the FMA Institute and within the Church.
During the days, the importance of communication in the digital world was emphasized, and the Coordinators also had the opportunity to engage with the invited speakers. Among the main activities, a review of the annual province list was carried out, with updates and the creation of email addresses for some Sisters.
Another issue addressed was the importance of the Province logo, a symbol of identity that must be preserved. The formation also placed emphasis on centennial activities, a significant period that also requires increased promotion through the Institute’s website.
We then discussed the use of digital tools, such as websites and social networks, to optimize the management of local communication. The importance of responsible management of email addresses and YouTube and Facebook accounts was highlighted, emphasizing the importance of good management to avoid problematic situations.
The meeting also included a practical part, in which participants learned how to make video montages thanks to the CapCut application. This has allowed them to update their skills in an ever-changing environment, which is essential for evangelization and the dissemination of information.
This formation time was very effective for the Coordinators, as it offered insights into improving their ability to manage communication within their community, while responding to the contemporary needs of the Church, to stay abreast of current challenges.
