Ljubljana (Slovenia). On 6 April 2026, Easter Monday of the Angel, the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of the Slovenian-Croatian Province of Mary Help of Christians (SLC) gathered at Rakovnik, Ljubljana, to celebrate their Provincial Day under the motto, “We are missionaries everywhere,” with the aim of strengthening fraternal bonds, exploring a contemporary theme, and expressing gratitude to one another, especially to the Provincial Superior, Sister Mateja Kranjc.
In the morning, they joined the parish community for Holy Mass at the Sanctuary of Mary Help of Christians. This was followed by a packed lunch in the hall, gathered around a table laden with Easter delicacies brought by the various communities, sharing not only food, but also fraternal closeness, kind words, and the joy of fellowship.
The Community of Sisters in Rijeka, Croatia, creatively organized a recreational gathering in which everyone participated by solving various “tasks,” questions, and riddles regarding the life and history of the Institute and the Province. Indeed, this year marks the 90th anniversary of the arrival of the first sisters in Slovenia, specifically in Rakovnik, an event that was celebrated in various ways during this gathering.
During the formation moment, each Community extended its best wishes and gratitude to the “twin Community” that it had accompanied through prayer during the period of preparation for the Province Day. As gifts, the Communities prepared plants, either symbolic or practical, in keeping with the spirit of Laudato si’.
This was followed by expressions of gratitude and symbolic gifts from the individual communities to the Provincial, who then addressed the FMA, commemorating, among others, two dear Sisters who, in the days leading up to Easter, left this earth to celebrate Easter in heaven.
The day concluded with the recitation of the Rosary in front of the Lourdes Grotto and with a group photo, which will be sent to Ecuador for the World Day of Gratitude.
