Rome (Italy). In preparation for the Solemnity of Mary Help of Christians, which is celebrated on 24 May 2024, the Salesian Family is united in the prayer of the World Novena, from 15 to 23 May 2024.
The spiritual proposal for this year’s Novena, entrusted by the Rector Major and inspired by the theme of Strenna 2024 – “THE DREAM THAT MAKES US DREAM. A heart that transforms the ‘wolves’ into ‘lambs'” – through the writings of Saint Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort will guide us to discover, “The Secret of Mary” to lead the whole Salesian Family to holiness.
Mary as Model, Mother, Guide, Witness, Teacher…. There are many aspects of the Virgin Help of Christians that will be deepened during the nine-day journey through the writings of the holy French missionary, who will provide precious pearls and spiritual beauties to be enjoyed day by day, to realize our desire to take Mary with us as a sure guide and model of life.
Each video, lasting about 8-9 minutes, will alternate different moments: a reflection of the Rector Major, Cardinal Ángel Fernández Artime; stories of dreams by young people of different backgrounds, ages, and experiences that testify to the actuality of the Dream of Don Bosco today; and the final invocation to Mary, with the prayer of Don Bosco to the Virgin to invoke her blessing.
The videos, available online in the coming days, will be visible a day in advance from May 14, in Italian, English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese in the different language channels of ANSChannel and on Telegram SDB.ORG.
Together with the videos, there is available the resource with the texts of the Novena in Italian, English, Spanish, French and portuguese.
