Rome (Italy). During the coordination meeting of the Provincials and Superiors of Preprovinces of Italy – held in Rome at the General House from 8 to 12 January 2026 – a particularly significant moment was the day of discussion and sharing with the Provincials of the Salesians of Don Bosco of Italy, held on 11 January at the headquarters of the Salesian National Center.
The meeting was enriched by the presence of Sister Paola Battagliola, Visiting Councilor of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, representative of the Italian Provinces, and Father Juan Carlos Godoy, Councilor of the Salesians for the Mediterranean Region.
The moment took place in a fraternal atmosphere, rich in dialogue, animated by the desire and commitment to walk together in the search for the good of young people. The themes addressed included the redesign of Salesian Italy, missionary animation, and the 150th anniversary of the first missionary expeditions.
Sister Paola’s words were of encouragement for everyone and a good omen for the future. “We are called to look up, to dare together, to open ourselves to new and possible horizons, to joyfully announce the attractive power of the Gospel and the Charism. By guarding our identity and the Charism that has been handed to us, we can truly become —as Pope Leo recalls — living maps of hope for a world that seeks meaning, truth, and fraternity.”
