Belo Horizonte (Brazil). On 13-14 November 2025, the IV Seminar on Salesian Spirituality was held in Belo Horizonte, at the headquarters of the Mother Mazzarello Province (BMM), with the aim of deepening knowledge of Salesian Spirituality through biographical studies or charismatic themes, consolidating one’s response to the vocational call.
During the Seminar, coordinated by Sister Vani Moreira, with the presence of the Provincial Sister Teresinha Ambrosim, the aspirants and postulants presented the biographies of some figures of the Salesian Family Saints, on their way to the altars or who shine with characteristics of sanctity: Saint Francis de Sales, Mamma Margherita, the Venerable Giuseppe Quadrio, Blessed Michele Rua, Blessed Philip Rinaldi, Michele Magone, Francesco Besucco, Zeffirino Namuncurà, Saint Artemis Zatti, the Venerable Rudolf Komorek.
Concluding, Sister Fabiane Rosa, FMA Temporary Professed, developed the theme, “150 years of Salesian Mission: Sign of Hope”.
All participants in the Seminar, both those who shared the insights and those who listened, expressed great joy and gratitude for the profound experience they had had. Some formandees expressed their feelings and what they learned from this experience as follows:
“The Seminar was a time of great deepening and vocational growth. It was a dive into the Salesian Charism. Remembering people who are examples of holiness is a way to revive in us the virtues and values that Don Bosco has done so much to teach us.” (Rafaela – Aspirant)
“The Seminar was deeply teaching. I wish to emphasize that it was a period of study and preparation that I did not experience alone. I received help from the Sisters who encouraged me, gave me ideas and suggestions; we built together. To speak of Francis de Sales means to remember and relive the source of our spirituality, a Saint who evangelized by loving, who clothed himself entirely in Christ, gentle and humble of heart. His spirituality made me reflect on how to live the Gospel and patiently cultivate the virtues I so desperately need, following his example.” (Larisse – Postulant)
“I participated in the Spirituality Seminar for the fourth time and they were very important for my life. They helped me confront my personal story and give it new meaning for a better vocational response. The Seminars also motivate me in my desire to deepen my knowledge of the Charism.” (Sister Fabiane N. Rosa – temporary professed)
Experiencing the Salesian Spirituality Seminar helps keep alive the charismatic fidelity born from the hearts of Don Bosco and Mother Mazzarello, as the knowledge acquired through the studies of the Saints-recognized by the Church or not-increasingly awakens the desire for a life similar to theirs, rich in spirituality, charismatic love, and giving to those most in need. In their time, they were a response to the love of God and today each one is called to live in this era, in contemporary history, the great response to the call of the Lord.
