Rome (Italy). May 6, 2024 is the birthday of Mother Chiara Cazzuola, Superior General of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.
The greetings of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, of the Educating Communities, and of the members of the Salesian Family from all over the world are expressed in gratitude for the gift of her joyful and close presence, in the gratitude which she herself, in the last Circular, invites us to cultivate and to manifest. Gratitude “restores us to the present, to the gift that we are, to the gifts that we receive every day, and colors our life with beauty” (Cir. 1037).
On the day on which it is celebrated, as a happy coincidence, is the Liturgical Feast of Saint Dominic Savio, fervent apostle of Marian devotion. May this make her sense even more alive, the maternal presence and loving guidance of Mary Help of Christians in her exciting and demanding mission, in an Institute as big as the world!
“We were thought of before we learned to think; we were loved before we learned to love; we were desired before a desire appeared in our heart. If we look at life in this way, then ‘gratitude’ becomes the leitmotif of our days” (Pope Francis, General Audience, 30 December 2020).
