Rome (Italy). On 6 May 2025, the day of the liturgical memory of Saint Dominic Savio, Mother Chiara Cazzuola, Superior General of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, celebrates her birthday.
“Here we make holiness consist of being very cheerful and doing our duty well” was the life program of this young student of Don Bosco, a giant of holiness, who in Valdocco was committed to making his companions friends of God.
Pope Francis, whose words continue to accompany us, has often praised this virtue, which is also a virtue of Mother Chiara, appreciated everywhere for her familiar and gentle approach. Speaking to the artists of the world of humor on 14 June 2024, the beloved Pope said:
“In the midst of so much dark news, immersed as we are in so many social and even personal emergencies, you have the power to spread serenity and smiles. You are among the few who have the ability to speak to people very different from each other, of various generations and cultural backgrounds.”
The Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, the Educating Communities, and members of the Salesian Family from all over the world join Mother Chiara in gratitude to the Lord for the gift of her life, for her joyful presence, and for the loving-kindness and “clarity” of her words in her guidance of the Institute. Happy birthday Mother Chiara!
