Rome (Italy). The launch of the 41st edition of the Salesian Family Spirituality Days is soon approaching, the traditional appointment of the Salesian month which takes place from 12 to 15 January 2023, in Turin-Valdocco, centered on the theme of Strenna 2023 by the Rector Major of the Salesians of Don Bosco, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime: “LIKE YEAST IN TODAY’S HUMAN FAMILY. The lay dimension of Don Bosco’s Family.”

Expected in Turin, about 300 representatives of almost all 32 groups of the SF who will be able to participate in all the scheduled appointments, while thousands of Salesian Family members scattered throughout the world will be able to experience, through live streaming, some moments of the Days, in particular the Holy Mass at 9:00 in the morning and the afternoon sessions from 15:00 to 17:30 (UTC+1), visible on the social channels of the InfoANS Agency  – Facebook Page and YouTube Channel.

The GSFS2023, coordinated by the Central Delegate of the Rector Major for the Secretariat of the Salesian Family, Fr. Joan Lluís Playá, SDB and his team, will be accompanied as presenters by the Hungarian Past Pupil Marton and by the Italian animator Federica Ambrogio.

It will begin on Thursday 12 January in the morning with the welcoming of guests, visits to Valdocco and the Casa Don Bosco Museum, while the official inauguration will take place at 15:30 (UTC+1). In this same session, accessible online from all over the world, in addition to greetings and welcome messages, the Year dedicated to St. Francis de Sales will be officially closed with a discourse by Fr. Ivo Coelho, SDB, General Councilor for Formation.

The Rector Major, Fr. Ángel Fernández Artime, will then proceed with the presentation of the Strenna. The Holy Mass in Mary Help of Christians Basilica and, in the evening, the community experience of the “Via Lucis” – a liturgical-devotional path born precisely in the Salesian Family – will close the day.

Friday 13, will open with the Holy Mass in the Basilica and a session in which the participants in Valdocco, divided into small linguistic groups, will reflect on the aspects of the Strenna that most help to value the lay dimension of the Salesian Family. In the afternoon, during the session broadcast live online, the Round Table will take place on the theme “The current moment of the laity in the Church”, moderated by Mr. Antonio Boccia, World Coordinator of the Salesian Cooperators, with four interventions: on the apostolic commitment of lay people, on the identity of the lay person, on educational processes and youth accompaniment, and on the role of the lay person in the Church today.

We will then proceed with the presentation of two Groups of the Salesian Family, the Sisters of Mary Immaculate Help of Christians (SMI) and the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Michael the Archangel (CSSMA), allowing time for the meeting with the speakers of the round table and evening prayer time.

The morning activities of Saturday 14 January will proceed in the same way as those of the previous day, continuing to develop the reflection on the ideas that emerged from the round table in the linguistic groups. In the afternoon, the assembly session – visible for all in live streaming – provides for an in-depth analysis of the Salesian Holiness of Artemide Zatti. Next, the Groups of the Daughters of the Queen of Mary Immaculate (DQM) and the Community of the Mission of Don Bosco (CMB) will be presented. It will continue with the presentation of good youth service practices carried out by the Salesian Family in the various continents and the film “Zatti, our brother” will be screened. At the end of the day, the participants will experience an evening in fraternity.

The last day, Sunday 15 January, will open with Holy Mass from Mary Help of Christians Basilica, presided over by the Rector Major and visible in live streaming. We will then proceed with a last session of group work on the youth experiences of the previous day, divided by Groups to which they belong.

At the end of the morning, the final conclusions will be sent by Fr. Playá and the Rector Major.
