Sampran (Thailand). On 17 January 2026, at the auditorium of Mary Help of Christians School in Sampran, Nakhon Pathom province, the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of Saint Mary Mazzarello Province (THA) celebrated the canonization of Sister Maria Troncatti, the Institute’s second FMA proclaimed a Saint, in an atmosphere of great joy, faith, and thanksgiving to the Lord.
Holy Mass was presided over by Archbishop Francis Xavier Vira Arpondratana of Bangkok, who celebrated with great solemnity. Around 600 people attended the event, including members of the Salesian Family, priests, religious men and women, teachers, young people, Past Pupils, as well as numerous faithful from various locations, gathered to thank God and invoke with great faith the intercession of the new Saint.
In preparation for the celebration– from 14 to 16 January – the FMA organized a youth gatheringin Sampran at Ban Than Phra Phon, which involved young people from schools and works, offering them the opportunity to learn about the life and testimony of Saint Maria Troncatti through creative group activities, moments of community prayer, and gestures of devotion, promoting a journey of faith, belonging, and spiritual growth.
This celebration was not only a tribute to this luminous Saint, witness to a life totally given to the service of others, lived with love, courage, and humility, but also a significant opportunity to express gratitude and cultivate a grateful memory for all the missionary Sisters of the Thai Province who with dedication continue to carry out their educational mission and service to society in accordance with the Salesian spirit .
The atmosphere of the entire celebration was imbued with emotion and hope. It was a moment of grace for the participants, capable of reviving their faith, strengthening their spiritual journey, and encouraging them to live their Christian vocation by following the example of Saint Maria Troncatti, mother, missionary, artisan of peace and reconciliation.
