Rome (Italy). On 4 December 2025, the 2nd appointment of the Salesian Thursdays at the Auxilium 2025-2026 – in person and online – will be held on topics of pedagogy, spirituality, and history of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, proposed by the Studies Center on the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of the Pontifical Faculty of Educational Sciences «Auxilium» in Rome.

“Without borders. The  Missions Sector of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (1969-2025)” is the theme explored in depth by Sister Ruth del Pilar Mora, current General Councilor of the Sector who, with an intense missionary experience, illustrates the path of animation that took shape in the Extraordinary General Chapter, after the Second Vatican Council.

In light of renewed ecclesiological and missionary reflection, the need had in fact been felt to explicitly appoint a General Councilor for the missionary communities, which had extended widely across the continents for almost a century.

Reflections on the renewed formation of FMA missionaries, the inclusion of the Salesian educational charism in accordance with the values present in different contexts, as well as on the new missionary frontiers, and missionary animation as a specific character of youth ministry, have accompanied decisions and choices.

Dialogue with the Salesians and other ecclesial groups was intertwined with a commitment to interreligious dialogue and the awareness that the traditional mission ad gentes changed geographical boundaries and cultural characteristics, as well as the origins of FMA missionaries.

Resources and challenges therefore call for sharing the proclamation of the Gospel, and the journey towards 150th of the first FMA missionary expedition, which will be celebrated in 2027, is enriched by reflections and responsibilities.

The meeting has been broadcast online since 6:30 pm (Italian time) and remains available on the Centro Studi FMA YouTube channel.
