Madrid (Spain) Manos Unidas, a non-governmental organization of the Catholic Church in Spain for the help and promotion of developing countries, on 12 December 2019 in the Auditorium of CaixaForum in Madrid, will award the prizes for the 60th anniversary of its foundation to figures and institutions of journalism and companies and to missionaries, volunteers, and associations who have dedicated their lives to the struggle against hunger and poverty.
Manos Unidas wanted to recognize the work of missionaries and local associations without which the Organization’s work would not be possible. The “Walking Together” Award will be given to the Daughter of Mary Help of Christians, Sister Bernarda García, originally from Spain (SPA), who has almost 40 years of missionary experience in Africa (AFO).
