Rome (Italy). Ten years after the publication of Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’, his message is translated into concrete action and formation. The UniEticPMI consortium, the Telematic University of Studies IUL, and the Pontifical Faculty of Education Science “Auxilium” announce the birth of the Master’s degree in Sustainability Management. A path designed to form professionals who are aware, responsible, and able to lead the change towards a more just, equitable, and sustainable society.
The Masters takes shape from the central message of Laudato Si’: the urgent need to take care of our common home. The formation initiative is a concrete and systemic response to the environmental, economic, and social challenges that define the current historical phase, an epochal transition in which sustainability, ethics, and technology must dialogue.
“Humanity still has the capacity to work together to build our common home,” wrote Pope Francis on 24 May 2015. And it is on this capacity that UniEticPMI builds, promoting a program which combines academic knowledge, ethical vision, and international perspective.
The Master’s Degree in Sustainability Management is structured to go beyond the traditional boundaries of corporate training, integrating spiritual values, culture of public ethics, and sustainable management tools. The objective is ambitious: to create a new generation of leaders who can read the present and build the future with responsibility and competence, putting the environment, the person, and social justice at the center. It is a journey of awareness that goes beyond the regulatory obligations and that stems from the urgent and unavoidable need to generate a new way of doing business and to promote an economy that is not limited to profit, but that knows how to create value for all, respecting the limits of our planet.
The formative program supports theory and practice, with a multidisciplinary path ranging from the civil economy to ethical communication, from the management of human resources in a green perspective to the assessment of ESG impacts (Environmental, Social, Governance). Special attention is given to “ecological conversion”, not only as a transformation of production processes, but as a cultural and personal change.
Among the modules planned are: business ethics, stakeholder management, green economy, sustainable leadership, artificial intelligence applied to the green transition, green HRM, ethical marketing, sustainability reporting, ESG rating, environmental certifications, LCA (Life Cycle Assessment), as well as practical workshops, simulations, role-playing, and an internship with final project work.
The Master’s is delivered in e-learning mode, with asynchronous teaching accompanied by synchronous webinars, to offer maximum flexibility to working students, professionals, and managers. The course delivers 60 university credits and includes testimonials from internationally renowned experts, immersive experiences, and a strong laboratory component.
The UniEticPMI consortium network also ensures a direct link with the world of work, thanks to collaboration with companies, inter-professional funds, and third sector entities. The Master’s thus opens the door to numerous professional opportunities in the field of corporate social responsibility, ESG and green jobs, with a particular focus on the profiles required in the ecological and digital transition.
The UniEticPMI Master’s and its formation offer are a point of meeting and continuity between past and present. On the one hand, in fact, the inspiration is faithful to the words of Pope Francis in his encyclical Laudato Si’, on the other hand, the closeness to Pope Leo XIV who – recalling the historic encyclical Rerum Novarum of Pope Leo XIII, the social question in the context of the first great industrial revolution – he urged everyone to respond with conscience and competence to another industrial revolution in progress, that of artificial intelligence and the new challenges for the defense of human dignity, justice, and work.
