The world sings to Mary 2

Rome (Italy). On 30 May 2025, at the end of the month dedicated to Mary, the Communication Sector of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians proposes the 2^nd edition of the Marian Festival “The world sings to Mary 2”, born with the desire to gather the voices of the Salesian world in songs of praise to the Mother of all humanity.

“The language of music is the language of the heart, a universal language, understandable to all. We will make a beautiful journey around the world, to discover how each people, with the beauty and charm of their own culture, expresses by singing the trust and love for Her whom the Lord has given to us as Mother.”

This is how Sister Ausilia De Siena, Councilor for Communication, had introduced edition 2024. Each Interprovincial Conference had sent one or more videos involving young people, young people in formation, lay workers, and Sisters, to make known the Marian traditions typical of their Countries.

The preparation for the Marian Festival was possible thanks to the collaboration of the Provincial Coordinators for Communication  – FMA and laity – whom also for “The world sings to Mary 2“, are called to animate their Provinces/ Preprovinces through participation in the Competition for the creation of an unpublished song to Mary.

The Contest Rules ask that  a song inspired by Our Lady, with the unpublished text and music be sent  on a language tape  with youth music, accompanied by a video.

You are also asked to make a promotional video of the song and send it to the  Communication Coordinator, who will take care to spread it on the social channels of the Province/ Preprovince.

Among the songs that will come from all over the world, the jury will select 9 winning songs, while the promo video, which by May 25 will have received the largest number of likes, will allow the song to participate in the festival, regardless of the jury’s vote, and receive a certificate of merit.

In total, 10 songs will be presented during the live streaming on 30 May 2025.

Registration for the competition must be received by 30 April 2025, at the latest; and the song sent by 10 May 2025, to the following email address festivalfma@gmail.com with the objective: “The world sings to Mary 2”.

Competition rules in the languages

“It is very beautiful to invoke this presence that stands beside us without asking anything and protects us, accompanies us, comforts us. It is the Mother we invoke to be transformed from within. (…) The truest prayer is that in which we entrust ourselves and trust in our Mother. Let us pray to Mary that, like her, we may let ourselves be flooded by grace, by the light of God’s joy.
