{"id":8810,"date":"2019-09-05T16:10:39","date_gmt":"2019-09-05T14:10:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/infosphere\/gestione-sostenibile-acqua-in-yogjakarta\/"},"modified":"2019-11-05T16:21:10","modified_gmt":"2019-11-05T15:21:10","slug":"sustainable-water-management-in-yogyakarta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/en\/infosphere\/sustainable-water-management-in-yogyakarta\/","title":{"rendered":"Sustainable water management in Yogyakarta"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Yogyakarta (Indonesia).<\/strong> On the 20<sup>th<\/sup> of August 2019, Sr. Maria Goretti Thuzar Aung and Sr. Elizabeth Phyu Phyu Aung(FMA CMY) participated at the International Seminar on the \u201cSustainable Water Management\u201d in Sahid Jaya Hotel in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. It was a Seminar that gathered around 70 participants from the different Southeast Asian countries and some university students who are working in the field of environmental development in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>The seminar began at 8:30 am and finished at 3:00 pm. The international seminar was honored by welcome speeches and the presence of Dr. Ir. Mochamad Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Public Works, Indonesia, Prof. Chafid Fandeli, the Rector of Institut Teknologi Yogjakarta, Prof. Shane Snyder, Executive Director of \u2013 Nanyang Environment Water Research Institute (NEWRI) from Singapore.<\/p>\n<p>After the welcome speeches from the Minister and professors, there was a short tea break. Afterwhich Dr. Ir. Danis Hidayat Sumadilaga, the Directorate General of Human Settlements Ministry of Public Works presented on the \u201cEnvironmental Challenges &amp; Governance\u201d in Indonesia. After that Prof. Shane Snyder presented the \u201cEmerging Environmental Challenges and Solutions in world\u2019s Fastest Growing Region\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The welcome speech was then followed by several presentations by Assistant Professor, Dr. Surapol Padungthon from Thailand on \u201cthe Community Battle Against Liver Fluke; Dr. Shameen Jinadasa from Sri Lanka on \u201cSaving lakes \u2013 the Urban Socio-Cultural and Technological Perspective; Sr. Elizabeth Phyu Phyu Aung FMA on \u201cClean Water Access for Urban Slum in Myanmar\u201d; Mr. Agus Suyanto from Institut Teknologi Yogyakarta on \u201cDevelopment of Clean Water Supply in Gunungkidul Regency\u201d. An open forum was then conducted after all the presentations were done in order to entertain questions from the audience. It was then followed by lunch.<\/p>\n<p>In the afternoon the Indonesia context showcased its environmental solutions featuring the \u201cEnvironmental Monitoring\u201d, \u201cUtilization of spatial modeling in Water-related disaster Management\u201d, \u201cWetlands for safe and eco-friendly Mine Voids solution\u201d and \u201cWater Management in Karst Region\u201d.
