Campo Grande (Brazil). <\/strong>From 22 to 24 July 2022, the 5th Regional Congress of the Association of Salesian Cooperators (ASSCC) of the Brazil Region was held in Campo Grande, at the Missionary Institute of St. Joseph<\/em>. “May love for Christ lead us to love our neighbor”<\/strong> was the theme, with the motto, “May the spirit of meekness warm the heart and conquer the soul”<\/strong>, both inspired by the Rector Major’s Strenna 2022, “Do all through love, nothing through constraint” (St. Francis de Sales).<\/p>\n

65 participants were present at the Congress, including the Delegates, Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Salesians of Don Bosco, the SSCC Provincial Councilors, including the Central Delegate of the Rector Major for the Secretariat for the Salesian Family, Fr. Joan Lluis Play\u00e1; the World Delegate of the SSCC and World Animator of ADMA, Sr. Lucrecia Uribe, FMA, who opened the works with the conference entitled “Synodality for the Church”; the World Delegate of the SSCC, Fr. Duc Nam Nguyen, SDB, who presented the theme \u201cSynodality for the Salesians\u201d; and the Salesian Cooperator Mr. Antonio Boccia, World Coordinator of the SSCC, who spoke of \u201cSynodality for the Laity\u201d.<\/p>\n

The program of the days included moments of formation in the Salesian spirit and synodality, of prayer, of spirituality, and of fraternal sharing, which made it possible to experience and strengthen the family spirit. Among the interventions, Prof. Brasdorico Merquiades dos Santos presented the conference on “St. Francis de Sales and Don Bosco united by love”, and Fr. Ademir de Oliveira, SDB, on the theme, “Strengthening the charismatic identity of the Salesian Cooperator in the post-synodal journey”.<\/p>\n

Given the formative nature of the Congress, the Conferences were broadcast through the networks of the ASSCC – Brazil Region, thus ensuring greater participation on the part of the Salesian Cooperators.<\/p>\n

On the last day, 24 July, the election of the new World Councilor for the Brazil Region took place. Darlene dos Reis Gon\u00e7alves Souza, Salesian Cooperator of Bel\u00e9m do Par\u00e1, was elected and will take up the post for the six-year term 2022-2028.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Salesian Cooperators of the Brazil Region expressed their gratitude for the precious contribution of the previous Councilor, Alzira Mar\u00e3es Ferreira. The mission of the new one was entrusted to the intercession of Mary Help of Christians and the Salesian Saints, so that she may strengthen the unity and collaboration between the associates of the Brazil Region.<\/p>\n
