Rome (Italy).<\/strong> The main objective of the Project A multipurpose sports field for Mary Help of Christians School of Granada is that of contributing to the education of the young through the realization of sports, cultural, and family activities and of free time for an integral formation, and to increase the sense of belonging and of positive participation in the life of the collective.
\nWith the contribution of the 8×1000 of the Catholic Church, a multipurpose sports field has been set up to accommodate not only sports and recreational activities for students and the school population in general, but can also be used for the integral formation of young people, for meetings with families, and for events, conferences, and meetings organized by the City, the Diocese, the Ministries of Education and Health, and the National Police. The cover allows it to be used even in adverse weather conditions typical of the local tropical climate characterized by an alternation of frequent thunderstorms and high temperatures
\nThe project is carried out at Mary Help of Christians School founded in 1912 in the center of the current suburb of the city. Currently the beneficiaries of the activities are students of the lower-middle class of the surrounding neighborhoods. Most of the students come from poor families, separated because of economic problems due to the high percentage of unemployment caused by political and social difficulties that lead fathers to emigrate to other countries. This situation means that children experience very conflicting situations in broken or multi-family parental contexts. A gap is created between desires and reality which in the long run increases frustration and leads to circles of lawlessness, drug use, and involvement in gangs. The work includes the following activities: school, oratory center, catechesis on the outskirts, and promotional activities. Every day about 130 children are welcomed for early education and 360 for the Primary School.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
