{"id":41318,"date":"2021-03-05T15:06:50","date_gmt":"2021-03-05T14:06:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/infosphere\/fma-nominata-consigliera-della-repam\/"},"modified":"2021-03-08T16:31:34","modified_gmt":"2021-03-08T15:31:34","slug":"fma-nominated-councilor-of-repam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/en\/infosphere\/fma-nominated-councilor-of-repam\/","title":{"rendered":"FMA nominated Councilor of REPAM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>(Brazil). <\/strong>On 5 March\u00a0 2021, the Pan-Amazonian Ecclesial Network (REPAM), the Network of Bishops which coordinates the activities of Dioceses, Religious Congregations, Associations and Catholic NGOs in the Amazon region, announced the election of three representatives of the Amazon to the Presidency Council, including <strong>Sister Maria Carmelita de Lima Concei\u00e7\u00e3o<\/strong>, Daughter of Mary Help of Christians, Provincial of the <em>Our Lady of the Amaz\u00f4nia<\/em> Province of Manaus (BRM), as Councilor.<\/p>\n<p>The press release states:<\/p>\n<p><em>The <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/redamazonica.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Pan-American Ecclesial Network (REPAM)<\/em><\/a><em> assumes as a Church, the proposals of the Synod of Bishops for the Amazon: &#8220;A Church with an Amazonian face needs its communities to be imbued with a synodal spirit, supported by organizational structures in accordance with this dynamic, as authentic organisms of communion\u2026 Paying particular attention to the effective participation of the laity in discernment and decision making, strengthening the participation of women. \u201d <\/em><em>(DF 92)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>In the <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vatican.va\/roman_curia\/synod\/documents\/rc_synod_doc_20191026_sinodo-amazzonia_en.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Final Document of the Synod<\/em><\/a><em> it is explicit: &#8220;that the voice of women be heard, that they be consulted and participate in decisions and, in this way, they can contribute with their sensitivity to ecclesial synodality&#8221; (DF 101). Furthermore, in the post-synodal Apostolic Exhortation <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.vatican.va\/content\/francesco\/en\/apost_exhortations\/documents\/papa-francesco_esortazione-ap_20200202_querida-amazonia.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Querida Amazon\u00eda<\/em><\/a>, Pope Francis states: <em>&#8220;In a synodal Church, women, who in fact play a central role in the Amazonian communities, should be able to access functions and also ecclesial services that do not require sacred Orders and allow them to better express their proper place.&#8221;<\/em> \u00a0(QA, 103)<\/p>\n<p>On the basis of these solicitations and the discernment process, the President, Card. Pedro Barreto Jimeno, SJ; the Vice-President, Msgr. Rafael Cob Garc\u00eda; and the Executive Secretary, Father Jo\u00e3o Gutemberg MC Sampaio, FMS, are joined by: <strong>Sister Maria Carmelita de Lima Concei\u00e7\u00e3o, FMA and Mrs. Yesica Patiachi Tayori, indigenous of the Harakbut people, as Councilors; and, as Assistant Secretary, Mr. Rodrigo Fadul Andrade.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sr. Maria Carmelita in 2019 had been invited to participate as an auditor in the Pan-Amazon Synod as a representative of Religious Life. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/en\/ifma-en\/echoes-from-the-amazon-synod\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">In an interview<\/a>, she had expressed her commitment<em> &#8220;to represent all consecrated women, mothers of families, and a large number of women who are present in the name of communities of faith who support the Church present in the most distant regions of the various countries of the Pan Amazon&#8221;.
