{"id":2877,"date":"2019-01-29T14:59:37","date_gmt":"2019-01-29T13:59:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/?p=2877"},"modified":"2019-06-28T11:15:28","modified_gmt":"2019-06-28T09:15:28","slug":"don-bosco-at-panama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/en\/ifma-en\/salesian-charism\/don-bosco-at-panama\/","title":{"rendered":"Don Bosco at Panama"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Panama City. <\/strong>On January 28, 2019 at Panama began the first day of the Triduum in preparation for the solemnity of St. John Bosco.<\/p>\n<p>After the experience of WYD with Pope Francis, many young people gathered together again to live the feast of Don Bosco, who is very beloved in Panama.\u00a0 Devotion to the Saint of the Young is felt deeply by the Panamanian people.\u00a0 Every city of the Country celebrates his feast in various ways, with specific artistic and folkloristic accents.<\/p>\n<p>About 300 young people from the various realities of Mary Help of Christians Province of Our Lady of the Angels (CAR) will live the Feast of Don Bosco in Panama.\u00a0 There will be time to visit the Panamanian Valdocco and the cultural and historic sites of Panama City as well as times for recreation and prayer together.\u00a0 At St. John Bosco Basilica, they lived the triduum of preparation that began on January 28, 2019 with the Eucharistic celebration presided by the Rector Major, Fr. \u00c1ngel Fern\u00e1ndez Artime.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/donbosco-panama2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"td-modal-image aligncenter wp-image-1749 size-full lazyload\" title=\"Don Bosco a Panam\u00e0\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/donbosco-panama2.jpg\" alt=\"Don Bosco a Panam\u00e0\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/donbosco-panama2.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/donbosco-panama2-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/donbosco-panama2-696x464.jpg 696w, https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/donbosco-panama2-630x420.jpg 630w\" data-sizes=\"auto\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 1200px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 1200\/800;\" data-original-sizes=\"(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On this first day of the Triduum, the Rector Major referred to the theme of the Strenna: \u201cSanctity also for you\u201d.\u00a0 With his passionate style, he encouraged the faithful and the young participants to take the journey of holiness seriously, as an accessible vocation for every Christian.\u00a0 He emphasized that this does not mean doing extraordinary things.\u00a0 \u201cIn these days, I will present two things\u201d, the Rector Major said in his homily.<\/p>\n<p>How to reach holiness in a simple and daily way: \u201cHoliness is a reality for every Christian.\u00a0 The journey toward holiness consists in doing everything possible to accomplish God\u2019s dream\u2026Pope Benedict XVI told the young people, \u2018Do not be afraid of what God asks of you\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Don Bosco make his boys feel attracted and enthusiastic about sanctity.\u00a0 \u2018Don Bosco was great\u2019 Pope Francis reflected, because \u2018he knew how to see young people with God\u2019s eyes\u2019 and this is why at the Valdocco of his time there were many Dominic Savio\u2019s.\u00a0 And what did Don Bosco tell him?\u00a0 \u2018Be always happy\u2019.\u00a0 This is a program for a marvelous life: live our life with depth and great joy, live our duties responsibly and live because God dwells in our heart\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He then encouraged the young \u201cto make God\u2019s dream for each of them become a reality.\u00a0 Be saints.\u00a0 Sanctity gives deep joy.\u00a0 It is realized in the responsible accomplishment of our duties\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>After Mass, each one received the blessing with the relic of Don Bosco.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Panama City.
