{"id":27153,"date":"2020-06-17T16:34:38","date_gmt":"2020-06-17T14:34:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/infosphere\/80-anni-dallarrivo-delle-fma-in-slovacchia\/"},"modified":"2020-06-18T11:51:45","modified_gmt":"2020-06-18T09:51:45","slug":"80-years-since-the-arrival-of-the-fma-in-slovakia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/en\/ifma-en\/presence-works\/80-years-since-the-arrival-of-the-fma-in-slovakia\/","title":{"rendered":"80 years since the arrival of the FMA in Slovakia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Bratislava (Slovakia)<\/strong> St. John Bosco Province (SLK) celebrates the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/en\/ifma-en\/presence-works\/80th-anniversary-of-fma-presence-in-slovakia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>80th anniversary<\/strong><\/a> of the arrival of the first Daughters of Mary Help of Christians in Trnava, Slovakia (June 16, 1940). In the days following the feast of St. Mary Domenica Mazzarello, Co-Founder of the Institute, the Provincial of Slovakia, Sister Monika Skalov\u00e1, visited all the communities to celebrate this event with the sisters. The communities exchanged gifts virtually, because of the lockdown due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, documenting this moment through a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/watch\/?v=262300181879434\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>video<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On June 13, 2020, invited by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lumen.sk\/archiv-play\/124762\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Catholic Radio \u2018Lumen\u2019<\/strong><\/a>, Sister Miroslava Tarajov\u00e1, Sister Anna Chrkav\u00e1, and Sister Eva Pullmannov\u00e1 \u00a0from the community of Nitra, spoke about the 80 years of history of the FMA in Slovakia and their current presence.<\/p>\n<p>The first FMA arrived in Slovakia on June 16, 1940 in Trnava, where the first community was formed. In 1944 a community was born in Nitra, where the FMA opened the school for girls and the oratory, and in 1947 a community in Doln\u00fd Kub\u00edn, where they dedicated themselves to catechesis in schools and oratories, also offering music and sewing courses.<\/p>\n<p>In 1950, as happened for the religious of the other Congregations, the FMA are brought to concentration camps. Subsequently during the totalitarian regime, they live and continue formation in a hidden way in apartments. Following the fall of the regime, they gradually return to live in communities and open new houses, resuming to wear the religious habit.<\/p>\n<p>On 13 May 2000, after being Delegation and then a Preprovince, the Slovak Province of St. John Bosco (SLK) was erected. Today the FMA of the SLK Province live and work in 16 Communities, mainly engaged in Youth Ministry.<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Salezianky\/videos\/846695995851253\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>video<\/strong><\/a> with the main historical stages of the Province, Sister Monika Skalov\u00e1, on behalf of all the FMA, expresses gratitude to Mother General, Sister Yvonne Reungoat, for the 80 years of their presence in Slovakia.<\/p>\n<p>Among the initiatives for the anniversary, an exhibition of paintings and candles created by Sister Andrea Miklovi\u010dov\u00e1 and Sister Lenka Pukajov\u00e1 was created, initially virtually, via social channels.
