{"id":25742,"date":"2020-05-15T10:00:32","date_gmt":"2020-05-15T08:00:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/infosphere\/vita-e-missione-in-tempo-di-pandemia-brj\/"},"modified":"2020-05-16T09:50:08","modified_gmt":"2020-05-16T07:50:08","slug":"life-and-mission-during-the-pandemic-brj","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/en\/infosphere\/citizenship\/life-and-mission-during-the-pandemic-brj\/","title":{"rendered":"Life and mission during the pandemic\u2013 BRJ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Rio de Janeiro (Brazil)<\/strong> The Communities of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of Our Lady of Penha Province (BRJ) accept the invitation of the Provincial, Sr. Ana Teresa Pinto, who encourages the FMA communities to recount the experiences they are living in this time of the Covid-19 Pandemic, to feel in communion within the charismatic mission they are called to keep alive:<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0\u201cThe time we are living calls for creativity and daring to re-invent ourselves in seeking alternatives to maintain access to hope and solidarity. \u00a0What we are experiencing confirms that isolation does not distance us, that the suspension of \u2018face to face\u2019 activities does not impede communication, that technology does not substitute human intelligence, and the capacity to be in harmony with the transcendent, which is not lacking, because we are beings gifted with the power of love.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>One experience is that of <strong>Bethany Home <\/strong>of <em>St. John Bosco Community<\/em> in <strong>Belford Roxo (RJ) <\/strong>which is carrying out the project <strong>\u2018To grow together\u2019 <\/strong>in collaboration with the Youth Pastoral of Rio de Janeiro, Providence Bank, and the social entities, Ekloos Institute and Phi Institute.\u00a0 The FMA, together with the Social Works Volunteers, have succeeded in delivering two packages of food and basic food products to the families of the 160 children, teenagers, and young people who are the recipients of the project.\u00a0 Thus, each family was able to re-kindle hope that makes it possible to believe that this difficult situation will pass.<\/p>\n<p>Another initiative is that of <strong>Don Bosco Home<\/strong> of St. John Bosco Community of <strong>Linhares , <\/strong>who in the month of April 2020, when the contagion of Covid-19 spread in Brazil, ideated a place of sharing and of fraternity with the slogan <strong>\u2018Infected by hope\u2019<\/strong>, recalling the words of Pope Francis.\u00a0 Thanks to the generosity of benefactors, they were able to distribute to families in difficulty, 250 rolls of bread a week received from the Celestrine oven, 25 packages of food received from St. John Paul II Parish, 267 kits with an Easter Egg, and other materials donated to them.\u00a0 In addition, the FMA through Sr. Antonia L. Venturim, donated to the families the liquid soap produced in the Community.<\/p>\n<p>The educators of the project for street children <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Villagindo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Villagindo<\/a>, of \u00a0Mary Immaculate Community of <strong>Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, <\/strong>are involved in producing Online activities with messages of support and hope to encourage responsibility and productivity, to furnish health information, and to try to reduce the effects of idleness on the children and young people.\u00a0 Each day, an educator gives the Good Morning, while others publish cultural games, playful activities, narrations, testimonies, contests, etc.\u00a0 The educators are also dedicated to making protective masks and soap made at home to donate them to the families who are the Project recipients.\u00a0 In addition, Villagindo made available a social assistant to support the families and clarify doubts about the Pandemic.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The FMA Communities of Rio de Janeiro Province (BRJ) live the time of the Covid-19 Pandemic searching for alternative ways to maintain access to hope and solidarity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":21,"featured_media":25737,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[37,192],"tags":[994,1928,1990],"class_list":["post-25742","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-infosphere","category-citizenship","tag-brj-en","tag-focus-en","tag-solidarieta-en"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Life and mission during the pandemic\u2013 BRJ &#8226;
