Manila (Philippines)<\/strong> The Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of St. Mary D. Mazzarello Province of the Philippines (FIL), donated 1,920 N95 masks left over from CHARIS-Singapore donations during the emergency work of the FMA at the eruption of the Taal volcano in January 2020 for healthcare professionals committed to coping with the Coronavirus.<\/p>\n

The masks were delivered by Sister Debbie Ponsaran to the Office of the Vice President of the Philippines in New Manila on March 24, 2020, together with the letter of the Provincial, Sister Mabel Pilar, addressed to the Vice President of the Philippines Leny Robredo, indicating the donation and assuring him and his staff of the prayers of the FMA. Another 480 N95 masks have been sent to frontline health workers in Cebu. In Manila, four doctors have already died from Coronavirus.<\/p>\n

The FMA of the FIL Province are dedicating long periods of time to prayer and Eucharistic adoration and several days of fasting to stop the Covid-19 pandemic. Sisters and teachers reach pupils with online lessons. The communities that have the availability of land for cultivation are planting vegetables to meet the food needs of the population due to a month of closure of the shops in the Philippines. Food parcels and financial assistance were also provided to the employees of the Communities of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.<\/p>\n

On March 25, 2020, the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord, Pope Francis led the whole world in the simultaneous praying of the Our Father to end the Covid-19 pandemic. The choir of Don Bosco School-Manila (Salesian Sisters of Don Bosco) sang the Our Father (in Latin) in live streaming in their own respective homes due to the lockdown.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
