{"id":16287,"date":"2019-12-23T10:30:21","date_gmt":"2019-12-23T09:30:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/infosphere\/e-natale\/"},"modified":"2020-01-07T10:44:38","modified_gmt":"2020-01-07T09:44:38","slug":"it-is-christmas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cgfmanet.org\/en\/ifma-en\/salesian-charism\/it-is-christmas\/","title":{"rendered":"It\u2019s Christmas!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Rome (<\/strong><strong>Italy<\/strong><strong>).<\/strong> <strong>\u201cI proclaim to you good news of great joy!\u201d <\/strong>\u00a0(Luke 2: 10).\u00a0 This is the Message of Christmas Greetings from the Mother General of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Sr. Yvonne Reungoat.<\/p>\n<p>Here is the proclamation of the Angel to the shepherds: our life has been redeemed by the certainty of the Savior.\u00a0 Each year, Christmas brings\u00a0 us the renewed awareness that salvation is not an event that happened once and for all, but one that is renewed and actualized from generation to generation for every person who lives in the world, whether they know it or not.<\/p>\n<p>God became human to share our whole existence.\u00a0 This gives us joy, peace, security, hope.\u00a0 It allows us to gaze with optimism on our life and on the life of the world to which we are sent.<\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"OC6tKSttx8U\"><iframe title=\"Messaggio Natale 2019 di Madre Yvonne Reungoat\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OC6tKSttx8U?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" data-load-mode=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><strong><em>A proclamation of hope<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We know that <strong>the history of the world has already been redeemed<\/strong>; that Jesus has recapitulated in Himself all the tears, the cries of desperation, that rise up from men and women on this earth, in every epoch of history, and has transformed them into songs of resurrection.<\/p>\n<p>I wish to invite you to look at the <strong>signs of the Kingdom<\/strong> that comes.\u00a0 They are not lacking, even if they do not make noise, if they do not appear in the headlines of the news and of the media.\u00a0 They exist, and they are more numerous than the signs of death.\u00a0 They may be <strong>small<\/strong> signs, immersed in daily life.\u00a0 This is why Pope Francis speaks of \u2018next-door holiness\u2019 and lists the behaviors that may even seem obvious to us.<\/p>\n<p>But there are also more evident signs, sometimes not directly religious or evangelical.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>sensitivity for integral ecology<\/strong> is a sign that is spreading.\u00a0 The <strong>capacity for welcome and for integration<\/strong> is a sign that emerges in human communities, in families, in individual people.<\/p>\n<p>A smiling relationship style capable of listening is a sign that rediscovers the fundamental values \u200b\u200bof human coexistence.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Together as religious men and women <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The growing attention to <strong>relationships<\/strong> and <strong>collaboration<\/strong> between religions is a sign. 2019 was marked positively by the signing of the <strong>Document on Human Brotherhood<\/strong> for <em>world peace and communal coexistence.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In a society that is highly suspicious of the followers of Islam, it has become a <strong>force for dialogue<\/strong>, has allowed us to discover clearly how faiths can converge in <strong>respect for the human person<\/strong>, in the will <strong>to serve<\/strong>, in the <strong>repudiation of violence and war<\/strong>, in <strong>mutual acceptance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>It is a response to the invitation of St. John XXIII <strong>to seek what unites<\/strong> us, what makes us discover ourselves as children of the same Father, because habits, cultures, practical choices are influenced by the diversity of times, places, conditions of life (<em>cf. Greeting of the Holy Father John XXIII to the faithful participating in the torchlight procession on the occasion of the opening of the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council, Rome, 11 October 1962<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u201cI proclaim to you great joy!\u201d\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Yes, it is possible to exult and intone the <strong>\u2018Gloria\u2019<\/strong> even in our times, because the coming of Jesus is real, albeit often hidden as in Bethlehem. When the Angels proclaimed it to the shepherds, they gave a very simple sign: &#8220;a Child wrapped in swaddling clothes and placed in a manger.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>To welcome Him we must have a poor and simple heart like that of the shepherds, <strong>able to read the \u2018signs\u2019<\/strong> through natural events such like that of the Magi; <strong>humble in adoration and obedient<\/strong> like that of Joseph and Mary.<\/p>\n<p>Christmas fills us with joy and this is why we are able to <strong>recognize<\/strong> the Baby in the <strong>people<\/strong> around us, in the <strong>seeds of the Kingdom<\/strong> spread throughout the world, in the cultures to which we belong, even when they need to be evangelized or re-evangelized, in the journey of our communities and of the Institute, in the joy of welcoming and accompanying new <strong>vocations<\/strong>, and of being sisters attentive to the <strong>One who has given us everything<\/strong>\u2026<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u201cI proclaim to you great joy!\u201d\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The joy of knowing that <strong>history<\/strong> has already been redeemed, that the <strong>world<\/strong> is already the \u2018place\u2019 of the presence of Christ, that in the hearts of many of our brothers and sisters, there is a <strong>nostalgia for the good<\/strong> opening the road to grace, that in every <strong>baby<\/strong> who comes into the world there is a bit of Christmas.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u201cI proclaim to you great joy!\u201d\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mercy <\/strong>became flesh, <strong>sin<\/strong> is canceled out, <strong>enmities<\/strong> vanish, and <strong>reconciliation<\/strong> is the normal condition of relationships among the peoples.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u201cI proclaim to you great joy!\u201d\u00a0 <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The history of our Institute<\/em> is part of a current of good that crosses the millennia of human life.\u00a0 The great joy that the Angels proclaimed is what we are already celebrating.\u00a0 \u2018<strong>Let us thank<\/strong> the Lord who grants us many graces!\u2019\u00a0\u00a0 I invite you to recall Mother Mazzarello, how at the beginning the Lord had given \u2018great graces,\u2019 and that the whole story of these <strong>150 years is woven with \u2018Grace.\u2019 <\/strong>We are invited<strong> to continue <\/strong>this Litany of Joy.\u00a0 Each one of us is called to proclaim it to everyone we meet, every day, not only at Christmas.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I wish everyone to be filled <\/strong>with this joy, that no effort, no disappointment, no pain may cloud this joy!<\/p>\n<p>May the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians be a grand proclamation of joy in the whole world!\u00a0 May Your<strong> families, lay collaborators, young people experience it and proclaim it in their turn, <\/strong>so that Christmas 2019 will mark a bright stage in their life.<\/p>\n<p>May the proclamation of joy reach those who<strong> do not know Christ or do not believe in His divinity <\/strong>and transfigure their existence!<\/p>\n<p>May the proclamation of the joy of Christmas resound with notes of gratitude for the Rector Major Don \u00c1ngel Fern\u00e1ndez Artime, for the<strong> Salesian confreres <\/strong>and all the priests who gift us with their ministry, for the <strong>Bishops <\/strong>of the Dioceses<strong> &#8230;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>May the proclamation of joy reach all the educating communities in the world.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Merry Christmas and Holy 2020!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rome, 24 December 2019 \u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002\u2002\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Superior General <em>Sr.<\/em> <em>Yvonne Reungoat, FMA<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Message of Christmas Greetings from the Mother General of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Sr. Yvonne Reungoat.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":21,"featured_media":16282,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[165,157],"tags":[368,372,1655,1928],"class_list":["post-16287","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-salesian-charism","category-ifma-en","tag-mother-general","tag-mother-yvonne","tag-spiritualita-salesiana-en","tag-focus-en"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>It\u2019s Christmas!
