She herself recounts, <em>&#8220;In that courtyard there were about six hundred girls and young women running, playing, and singing.&#8221;<\/em> There she met the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, was fascinated by them, and the desire to follow them and be like them grew within her.<\/p>\n<p>The chronicle of Mary Help of Christians House in Essen Borbeck reports, &#8220;25 January 1926. Our Reverend Mother Superior, Sister Alba Deambrosis, sets off for Eschelbach to accompany 7 candidates who wish to become Daughters of Mary Help of Christians.&#8221; Sister Alba Deambrosis, an Italian missionary, had left in 1922 with five other nuns to found the first FMA work in Germany.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sister Antonieta often spoke about Don Bosco and encouraged others to imitate him. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This aspect is also evident in her autobiographical writings. She indicates 31 January 1926, as the date of her entry into the Institute, while the official records show 29 January and the chronicles mention <strong>1 February<\/strong>. The house chronicle provides a brief account of the ceremony of the imposition of the medal:<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>1 February<\/strong><\/em><em>:<\/em> <em>The medal of Mary Help of Christians was bestowed upon the postulants. The Salesian Provincial, Father Franz Saverio Niedermayer, traveled specifically from Munich to preside over the ceremony. The postulants, gathered in the chapel that morning, listened with great interest and pleasure to the words of their beloved superior. He encouraged them to immediately dedicate themselves with great diligence to studying and acquiring the spirit of Don Bosco, our Founder and Father, in order to worthily respond to the grace of their vocation.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>That day marked the beginning of his journey towards sainthood. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Father Niedermayer&#8217;s exhortation remained etched in Antonieta&#8217;s mind and heart for her entire life. Of German origin, Franz Xaver Niedermayer had studied Theology in Italy, where he became a Salesian and a priest. In 1916, he was a pioneer of the Salesian work in Germany and founded the first presence in Bavaria. In 1928, on the occasion of the Beatification of Don Bosco, he promoted knowledge of the founder in the Austro-Hungarian area. When, in 1935, the Rector Major, Father Pietro Ricaldone, offered the Strenna entitled &#8220;Fidelity to Saint Don Bosco,&#8221; this commitment became Father Niedermayer&#8217;s life program.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The presence of Mary in the life of Sister Antonieta.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Cronaca continues, <em>&#8220;Then the postulants approached the altar to receive the medal, while the nuns in the choir, accompanied by the harmonium, sang the beautiful Marian hymn, &#8216;Let it resound through the heavens&#8217;.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>At the beginning of her journey, the Virgin Mary was present, becoming her guide and model for her consecrated life. Sister Antonieta is remembered for her maternal kindness, her smiling face, and a special mission linked to a statuette of Mary Help of Christians, which she received in 1973 from Mother Ersilia Crugnola with the recommendation to &#8220;put her to work.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Servant of God, therefore, lived out her calling to be a reflection of Mary Help of Christians, so that her blessing hand might be present everywhere, especially towards the sick and those who entrusted themselves to her intercession, and many experienced the effectiveness of this blessing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rome (Italy).
