In response to the Pope&#8217;s invitation, the Indian Province of St. Thomas the Apostle of Chennai (INM), wanted to celebrate this day in a concrete, creative, and meaningful way. In fact, each community chose its own initiatives to express its understanding, involvement, and solidarity with the poor: from the distribution of food and blankets to the poorest, to financial support for families, to contributions for medical and school expenses, to visiting the poor, the elderly, and shelters for the homeless. These are just some of the concrete ways in which communities have shown their closeness to those who have less and, given that Pope Francis emphasizes that &#8220;there is no one so poor that he has nothing to give\u201d, the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, were enriched by being with the poor and sharing what they had.
