What values, practices, and forms of language keep its original intuition alive, and how is it expressed in different cultures and societies?<\/p>\n<p>From these questions was born the international project <strong>\u201cRethinking Salesian Education (2025-2027)\u201d<\/strong>, promoted by the Youth Ministry Sector of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians and the Youth Ministry Sector of the Salesians of Don Bosco, in collaboration with the Pontifical Faculty of Educational Sciences \u201cAuxilium\u201d and the Pontifical Salesian University of Rome (UPS).<\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"UzUuEp_rxSk\"><iframe title=\"Rethinking Salesian Education - Worldwide Research Project\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" data-src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/UzUuEp_rxSk?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" class=\"lazyload\" data-load-mode=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Sister Magna, the project, <em>Rethinking Salesian Education,<\/em> is at a particularly significant time for the Salesian Family. <\/strong><strong>Could you explain its origin and meaning to us?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The project was born in the context of preparation for the 150<sup>th<\/sup> anniversary of the <em>short Treatise on the Preventive System<\/em> of Saint John Bosco (1877\u20132027). In this context, the Pontifical Faculty of Educational Sciences Auxilium and the Pontifical Salesian University have embarked on a joint study and research journey, in close collaboration with the SDB and FMA General Councils.<\/p>\n<p>The aim is to reread and update the Salesian educational experience in the different cultural contexts of the contemporary world. It&#8217;s about understanding how the Preventive System continues to be a living educational proposal today, capable of engaging with current challenges and generating hope.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The project runs for several years. How is this journey structured?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The itinerary is divided along two complementary guidelines. On the one hand, <strong>a cycle of thematic seminars<\/strong>, conceived as spaces for interdisciplinary dialogue to build a shared theoretical, methodological, and intercultural framework. On the other hand, <strong>international research<\/strong> aims to deepen the vitality and relevance of the Preventive System through an intercultural, quantitative, and qualitative approach.<\/p>\n<p>The entire journey will culminate in the <strong>International Congress \u201cSalesian Educational Experience. Rethinking the Preventive System 150 years after Don Bosco&#8217;s writing\u201d,<\/strong> scheduled for <strong>Rome from 9 to 11 April 2027<\/strong>, during which the results and perspectives that emerged will be presented.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Which topics have been addressed and will be addressed in the project seminars?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The first seminar, <em>Educational Models and Youth Worlds<\/em> (UPS, 21 June 2025), inaugurated the journey by bringing together the main contemporary pedagogical currents \u2014from classical pedagogy to civic and pro-social education, from counseling to pedagogy for skills and digital\u2014 with the Salesian educational tradition.<\/p>\n<p>The second seminar, <em>Young People and Their Growth<\/em> (Auxilium, 18 October 2025), was dedicated to Don Bosco&#8217;s anthropological vision and his educational perspective on the processes of personal, psychological, and spiritual development of young people.<\/p>\n<p>The third seminar, <em>Pedagogy of the Environment in the Preventive System: An Interdisciplinary and Community Approach<\/em> (UPS, 18 April 2026), will explore the educational value of the environment as a relational and community space, highlighting the co-responsibility between religious and lay people and the importance of interculturality in educational contexts.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Regarding international research, what are its main objectives?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The research aims to comprehend how the Preventive System is understood, reinterpreted, and experienced in the different Salesian regions of the world. To this end, it connects three fundamental dimensions: the personal values of educators and young people, the cultural values of the contexts to which they belong, and the values specific to the Salesian pedagogical tradition. The aim is to grasp how these dimensions integrate and influence each other, generating different educational expressions, yet consistent in the fundamental principles of the Salesian method. (<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1dypoBXzc9vSp7iSGApw8Hw2yF0Wz-BWf\/view?usp=drive_link\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vademecum<\/a><\/strong><\/span>)<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Quale metodologia \u00e8 stata scelta per affrontare una realt\u00e0 cos\u00ec complessa e come partecipano concretamente le Ispettorie e le opere?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00c8 stata scelta una metodologia integrata, pensata per coinvolgere in modo attivo e corresponsabile tutte le Ispettorie FMA e SDB. La ricerca si articola in diversi componenti complementari, attraverso i quali le comunit\u00e0 educative partecipano in modo concreto e diretto:<\/p>\n<p><strong>In primo luogo<\/strong>, viene somministrato un questionario alle \u00c9quipe Ispettoriali di Pastorale Giovanile e agli educatori, sia FMA sia SDB. Questo strumento rileva valori personali e culturali, cultura organizzativa e percezione del Sistema Preventivo. Ogni Ispettoria \u00e8 chiamata a coinvolgere i membri della propria \u00c9quipe di Pastorale Giovanile e un gruppo significativo di educatori con esperienza in diverse opere e contesti.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In secondo luogo<\/strong>, \u00e8 previsto un questionario rivolto ai giovani tra i 13 e i 25 anni, provenienti da differenti realt\u00e0 salesiane: scuole, oratori, centri di formazione professionale, universit\u00e0, opere sociali, parrocchie e pastorale vocazionale. I giovani sono invitati a esprimere come vivono l\u2019esperienza educativa salesiana e quale impatto essa abbia sulla loro crescita personale, sui valori e sulla dimensione spirituale.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Un terzo ambito<\/strong> riguarda l\u2019analisi documentale dei Progetti o delle Linee Ispettoriali di Pastorale Giovanile, o di documenti equivalenti, finalizzata a esplorare come i valori salesiani dichiarati si traducano in scelte educative e pastorali concrete, e a mettere in relazione gli orientamenti programmatici con le pratiche effettivamente vissute nelle comunit\u00e0 educative.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019integrazione di questi strumenti consentir\u00e0 una lettura ampia e approfondita della realt\u00e0 educativa salesiana, capace di mettere in dialogo i valori dichiarati con l\u2019esperienza effettivamente vissuta nelle comunit\u00e0.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Quali frutti ci si attende da questo processo di ricerca?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tra il 2026 e il 2027 si svolger\u00e0 l\u2019analisi integrata dei dati quantitativi e qualitativi, seguita dalla restituzione dei risultati, da diverse pubblicazioni e dal Congresso Internazionale conclusivo. Il frutto pi\u00f9 importante che ci aspettiamo \u00e8 un processo condiviso di consapevolezza e discernimento, che aiuti a riconoscere la ricchezza e la diversit\u00e0 dell\u2019educazione salesiana nel mondo e a orientare con maggiore chiarezza le scelte educative future.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Per concludere, quale messaggio desidera rivolgere alle comunit\u00e0 educanti?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Desidero sottolineare con forza che questa ricerca \u00e8 un cammino condiviso, vissuto insieme ai nostri fratelli Salesiani di Don Bosco, e che coinvolge tutte le Ispettorie, sia FMA sia SDB, in una concreta esperienza di corresponsabilit\u00e0 carismatica.<\/p>\n<p>Non si tratta semplicemente di collaborare a un progetto accademico, ma di camminare insieme, come Don Bosco ha sognato e voluto: nella comunione, nel dialogo e nella reciprocit\u00e0, al servizio dei giovani e delle giovani.
