Over 1,800 homes were damaged and more than 6,000 people were affected<strong>, including the families of the boys and girls linked to the Community of <em>Saint Joseph<\/em> of Chom Thong, of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians of <em>Saint Mary Mazzarello<\/em> Province (THA).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>At the moment it is not yet possible to directly reach the affected areas; roads and paths remain impassable. As soon as they can, the Sisters of Chom Thong will visit the children&#8217;s families and deliver aid to the affected villagers.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, they are collecting donations from local benefactors, students, past-pupils, collaborators and outside organizations, and preparing materials to bring to those in need. Those wishing to contribute can join the FMA for the purchase of basic necessities, such as food, clothing, blankets, and more.<\/p>\n<p>Informed of the situation, while in Paraguay for the Triennial Verifica of the CIB and CICSAL Conferences, <strong>the Superior General of the FMA Institute, Mother Chiara Cazzuola<\/strong>, asked for prayers from the Verifica participants.<\/p>\n<p>The Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians offers concrete support to the population and <em>counts on the generosity and solidarity of all<\/em>.
