Rome (Italy).<\/strong> On 28 and 29 July 2025, the\u00a0Jubilee of the Digital Missionaries<\/strong><\/a><\/span> and Catholic influencers<\/strong>, an unprecedented event, organized by the Dicastery for Communication of the Holy See, aimed at all those who evangelize in the digital environment, sharing the message of the Gospel on social networks, blogs, channels, and apps.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Among the approximately 1,100 participants, called to share their experiences, strengthen their common mission of bringing the Good News, and renew their networks, with a single heart connected to God, there were also two Daughters of Mary Help of Christians<\/strong>, Sister Karen Gamarra, of\u00a0 Mary Help of Christians Province (CMA) and Sister Magda Cruz of\u00a0 Our Lady of the Rosary of Chiquinquir\u00e1 Province (CBC), who recount their experience:<\/p>\n

It was not the followers nor the \u201clikes\u201d that brought together more than a thousand young people, lay people, men and women religious, and priests to the streets of Rome. They were concrete faces, distinct voices, different languages… united by a single passion: proclaiming the Gospel from the digital continent. They were digital evangelizers, tools of grace, people meeting people, stories, experiences.<\/p>\n

1st<\/sup> Day: From the “click” to the encounter <\/strong><\/p>\n

Since the early hours of July 28, the doors of the Conciliation Auditorium, a few steps from St. Peter’s,\u00a0 opened to welcome missionaries from over 57 countries, both in person and virtually. Some came from YouTube channels, others from Instagram or TikTok. They were responsible for virtual prayer communities, spirituality blogs, catechetical accounts, or digital animators in their parishes.<\/p>\n

Paolo Ruffini, Prefect of the Dicastery, set the tone for the encounter with these words<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

“It’s not the network that unites us. It is God Himself who summons us. What we build together goes beyond the virtual; it is a testimony of living faith.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Workshops, testimonies, and conferences followed in which the digital was not an end, but a means. We talked about ethics, creativity, youth evangelization, discernment at the time of algorithms, and the call to let our hearts touch, renewing our humanity.<\/em><\/p>\n

But above all, there was community. The call to become aware that it is God who calls us, not to \u201cbe influencers\u201d, but to be witnesses, has become evident. Because today’s world doesn’t listen to influencers; it listens to testimonies. And if it listens to influencers, it’s because they are living testimonies<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n

In the afternoon, in a vigilant atmosphere, the prayerful silence was transformed into an interior cry during the penitential liturgy celebrated in St. Peter’s Basilica, in front of the crucifix. Many, with their cell phones turned off by personal choice, prayed in silence; it was a disconnection to reconnect with the essentials.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Day 2: After the Holy Door, the sending<\/strong><\/p>\n

On 29 Tuesday, the air was perfumed with mission. We walked together on a pilgrimage to the Holy Door. The Eucharist was presided over by Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle<\/strong>, Pro-Prefect of the Dicastery for Evangelization, whose homily was simple and direct:<\/p>\n

“You are not Catholic influencers because you have followers. You are because you make others follow Jesus. <\/em>Don’t look for clicks; look for hearts.”<\/em><\/p>\n

At the end of the Holy Mass, everyone’s hearts beat in unison. Pope Leo XIV<\/strong> appeared to address us. Not through a screen, but face to face, with a serene look and a fatherly voice:<\/p>\n

“It’s not about generating content, but generating encounters. Be bridges. Be communion. In a world that divides, you can unite. (<\/em>Greeting of Pope Leo XIV<\/a><\/span><\/strong>)<\/em><\/p>\n

A night under the Roman sky<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the afternoon, the group participated in an ecumenical encounter animated by Taiz\u00e9. Later, we had the joy of visiting the Vatican Gardens and sharing like a family, a delicious ice cream, ideal for warm summer evenings.<\/p>\n

The evening ended with the Digital Mission Festival<\/strong> in Piazza Risorgimento. Music, testimonies, and the anthem \u201cTODOS\u201d, performed in different languages, transformed the square into a true celebration of the Spirit.<\/p>\n

The challenge of the FMA in this digital mission <\/strong><\/p>\n

For us Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, this Jubilee was a mirror and a sending. It showed us that the digital world is not optional; it is mission territory<\/strong>. And it\u00a0 asked us some concrete questions:<\/p>\n
