Tam Ha (Vietnam).<\/strong> From 22 to 30 April 2025, the Superior General of the Institute of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians, Mother Chiara Cazzuola, in Vietnam to celebrate World Gratitude\u00a0 Day, made a short visit to\u00a0 Mary\u00a0 Help of Christians<\/em> Province (VTN)<\/p>\n

22 April<\/strong> the Provincial, Sister Maria Hoang Thi Thu Ha, the Provincial Councilors, and some representatives of the Salesian Family joyfully welcomed Mother at the airport Tan Son Nhat in Ho Chi Minh City. On the way to Tam Ha, they visited the Church of Fatima Binh Trieu, where they received the plenary indulgence for the Jubilee Year and entrusted the visit to Mary Help of Christians.<\/p>\n

Mother was then welcomed at the Provincial House by kindergarten students, young people, and members of the Salesian Family in celebration. The Provincial expressed her joy at having\u00a0 Mother General among them, a grace of God for the Province, and gave her as a gift a traditional Vietnamese conical hat, a cultural symbol linked to the daily life of the people.<\/p>\n

Mother also received a “Pha Biang”, typical shawl of Laos, which reflects the beauty and craftsmanship of Laotian women and warmly greeted in Vietnamese “M\u1eb9 ch\u00e0o t\u1ea5t c\u1ea3 c\u00e1c con” (Hello everyone!). The reception continued in the chapel, entrusting to God and Mary her visit to Vietnam. In the evening, at Holy Mass presided by Fr. Giuse Vu Trong Tai, SDB, the community prayed for the deceased Pope Francis.<\/p>\n

The following day,<\/strong> Mother Chiara met the Sisters, teachers, staff, pupils of the Linh An kindergarten and students of the Tam Ha General School, representing the students of the various works of the VTN Province. “I am very happy to be here with you. As Don Bosco, I carry you in my heart and in my prayers. I hope that the valuable experiences you make while studying here will remain with you for life, helping you to grow and become people who bring joy to others,”<\/em> she told them.<\/p>\n

She then met with the Provincial, the Councilors, and the Coordinators of the Province Sectors, while in the afternoon, she met with the Community Animators.<\/p>\n

On 24 April<\/strong> Mother, accompanied by some FMA, went to the shrine of Our Lady of Nui Cui – Diocese of Xuan Loc. Here she met with FMA parents, aspirants, pre-aspirants, girls, relatives, and members of the educating community in Gia Kiem, Thong Nhat district, Dong Nai province. With them, she participated in the Holy Mass presided by Mons. Joseph Dinh Duc Dao, Bishop emeritus of the Diocese of Xuan Loc and concelebrated by some Salesians of Duc Huy, with the intention of prayer for the deceased Pope Francis.<\/p>\n

After the Mass, Mother had a short encounter with the FMA parents. In the afternoon, in the House of Nui Cui, she had a formation meeting with the aspirants, pre-aspirants, and young women. “Do not be afraid to express what you feel, what you think, and even the concerns of your heart to your spiritual guides. Through them, you will discover the will of God,”<\/em> she encouraged them. Later with some Sisters, she visited the FMA communities of Doc Mo and Xuan Hoa.<\/p>\n

On the morning of April 25<\/strong>, with Sister Maria Assunta Inoue, Visiting Councilor, with the Provincial, and several FMA, Mother Chiara visited the headquarters of the Salesians’ Province St. John Bosco (VIE). Afterwards, she returned to the VTN provincial house to meet the novices and postulants. After the warm welcome, she shared, “Faithful commitment is not natural; it must be desired, ardently wanted, and requires an effort to be built.”<\/em><\/p>\n

In the afternoon, the Provincials and Provincial Councils of the CIAO Conference, with the Sisters, celebrated Vespers to give thanks to God and pray especially for Mother and for the Institute. In the evening, with the religious and laity of the parish of Tam Ha, they participated in the show, “Light the Gospel of Hope”, which recalled the vitality and joy in the proclamation of the Gospel within the Christian life, especially in the FMA Institute.<\/p>\n

Inspiring was the moment of silent prayer at the end, in which each one held in their hand a lit candle, offering together prayers for Pope Francis. The evening ended with the words of Mother, “The Celebration of Gratitude is also an opportunity for me to express my appreciation to the Sisters and all members of the educating communities. Tonight, each of us received a flame that radiates light; let us share that light with those around us.”\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n

On 26 April,<\/strong> the World Feast of Gratitude <\/a><\/span><\/strong>was celebrated. In the afternoon, Mother met the Salesian Family, to whom she said, Each member is like a branch, but all share the same roots from Don Bosco, Salesian spirituality and the commitment to love and elevate young people.<\/p>\n

On the morning of 27 April<\/strong>, Mother Chiara met with the FMA Temporary Professed, to whom she spoke about the integration of faith in daily life. She stressed that the transformation in faith is essential because, through baptism, they have chosen Christ and are called to remain deeply united with Him in the Eucharist, embracing His grace every hour and every day, because His presence is continually working in them.<\/p>\n

Later, she met the Sisters, catechists, and almost a thousand students of the Tam Ha catechism, who expressed their gratitude for the care and love received from the FMA. In the afternoon, Mother attended the huge encounter with young people<\/a><\/strong><\/span> from all over Vietnam and Laos.<\/p>\n

On 28 April<\/strong>, accompanied by the Provincial, the Sisters, and several students, she visited Don Bosco Technical School in the city of Vinh Long and in the afternoon, she visited the students of three hostels in Saigon run by the FMA Community of Nam Hoa.<\/p>\n

On 29 April<\/strong>, Mother General Chiara Cazzuola and the Sisters attended the\u00a0 Mass of Gratitude presided by Father Joseph Nguyen Kim Khanh, SDB Provincial Vicar.<\/p>\n

Before the end of the Mass, the community participated in the sending ceremony, in which Mother presented to each Sister a star as a reminder of their call to be a sign of hope, bringing the light of the Gospel and of the Risen Christ to the world.<\/p>\n

She then met and shared with the FMA Sisters of the Province of Vietnam three key reflections on which to meditate and live their consecrated life: the joy of vocation, the importance of a deep spirituality, and the mission to make the charism shine in today\u2019s Church.<\/p>\n

She concluded with her goodnight to the Sisters gathered in the House of Tam Ha, “I thank you, dear Sisters, for these days spent together, which have given me beautiful experiences among you. I will keep these memories in my heart. At the beginning of the Month of Mary, we also remember the holiness of Mother Mazzarello and cultivate filial gratitude towards Mary Help of Christians.”\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n

On 30 April<\/strong> Mother Chiara Cazzuola returned to Rome. In entrusting her journey, the Sisters asked for her protection and guidance at every step of her mission.<\/p>\n

The days rich in grace, gratitude, and joyful encounters have ended. For the FMA of the Province VTN, it was not a simple visit, but the confirmation of belonging to a great religious family, in which every community and each Sister, wherever she is, is called to spread love, to ignite hope, and to embody the Charism in the “sacred lands” in which it is engaged.<\/p>\n
